Between doing what you’ve described here and him introducing the Three Strikes Law I’m beginning to think Clinton was even worse as President than I’d previously thought.

It’s apparently based on a novel by Kariane Bradley; but when I read the synopsis of the novel I immediately thought of the Spanish tv series as well - ‘El ministerio del tiempo’. Coincidence?

You’ve put forward a good argument for what’s happened, but I’m still unclear why Andrew Neil was employed by the BBC for so long having espoused views many people considered unacceptable. Has the BBC tightened its guidelines? It appears in this case they’re pandering to the Gov.

Sad news but please please get rid of Jeremy Vine. If people want to debate, whine and chat let them go to

And it’s also I think why so many people get scammed. They’re pushed in to using tech that isn’t fit for purpose and then they get exploited by unscrupulous fraudsters.
Air Chief Marshal Sir Hugh Dowding, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief Fighter Command was born on this day in Moffat in 1882.
Educated at Winchester and the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, he was commissioned in the Royal Garrison Artillery. 🧵

Radar screens that bleep. For some reason Hollywood and other movie makers insist on adding sound effects to radar sweeps. They don’t make a noise in real life.

Appalling that someone in a role like that could say that and ignores the fact that one of the justifications often used by police officers to detain and arrest people is arguing with them.
Well, all I can say after watching that, is that the women who escaped from the FLDS and have built new lives for themselves are incredibly brave and deserve a heap of cash from all the millions held by the ‘church’.

I’m sure the Poles must be scratching their heads considering how many times the Russians have invaded and not to mention moving their entire country westwards in 1945. Harking back to 1619 is probably low on most Poles’ priority list. 🤔

The two Japanese people who died as a result of being hit by Lt Ridge Alkonis were:
Seiko Sano, 85,
Takeshi Endo, 54,
Their names aren’t mentioned by the BBC; in the same way they’re not mentioned by Jake Tapper, CNN or a lot of other media reports.

Once you’ve apologised to Alina; you can reflect on the thousands murdered by the Russians in 1939 and shipped off to Gulags from Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Plus the Finns killed in the Winter War just because the Russians wanted more land. You’re an idiot.

What culture is he referring to? The Romans? The Normans? The Tudors? Help us out! Or is the reality that our ‘culture’ has evolved over centuries and is a product of who came before. And we haven’t lost anything, we’re gaining new facets to a stronger and diverse one

I’m still astonished that Andrew Neil is being given a programme to present on Channel 4. He was unpleasant enough on the BBC and this enabling by another broadcast organisation just seems to encourage him.

I love how Higgins asks the question, Mayor Bowser answers it and then he talks over her answer because he doesn’t like what she’s saying. Is that the kind of representation the GOP Senators and Reps would give to the citizens of Washington DC? 🤷🏻♂️

Anyone who’s travelled to a country requiring a visa knows it’s the traveller’s responsibility to complete the forms and any mistakes are therefore your responsibility. So blaming someone else for filling out a form that you should have filled out yourself just doesn’t wash.

It was the lack of Canadians that caught my eye. The aircraft furthest right appears to be a Handley Page Hampden which stopped operational flying in 1942.

It’s alarming and perplexing that the Isle of Man sits inside the UK for some things yet it sits outside in some strange gray area for others. It doesn’t show the UK or the Isle of Man in the greatest of lights if the NCA’s jurisdiction doesn’t extend there.

Totally agree. It's great to see a movie made that hasn't got some mythical 'White Saviour' or the other Hollywood trope of the 'gallant Southerners' who were 'kind to their Slaves'.

No. No. No. The point of all those beautiful close-ups at the beginning of the movie would be lost by doing what you suggest. It’s all about their faces as they await the arrival, the switch between close and long shot. AI is an abomination.

We didn’t eat Weetabix in our house but my lovely grandparents did and knew that I liked Doctor Who. So they went out and found all the different boxes - bought them - and then cutoff the backs for me. I had the entire set thanks to them. Absolutely incredible thinking back. ☺️

Mr. Wallace you know that in the Armed Forces every serving member is subject to Queen’s Regulations. Are we now saying it’s ok to bend the rules and fly by the seat of our pants through an international crisis? What message does that send out to the men & women of the Services?
@jlippincott_
@FDRLST
Surely as members of the armed forces we accepted that certain aspects of our lives were now subject to orders and regulations? In my time we had to be clean shaven and couldn’t be tattooed. I also had to be vaccinated against certain diseases in case I was deployed 1/-

Yet she won't return to the UK to support investigation and face trial if the Crown Prosecution Service recommends it? It seems the USA will do anything to prevent trial of its citizens if they break the law overseas, yet demands extradition to US of foreign citizens regularly.

No, they are not. There have been reported instances where people in a state approved emergency shelter that comprised tents in a park were ‘moved on’ and threatened with arrest despite their homes still being destroyed.
Just to add some clarification in response to some of the comments. If it was my own funeral people could wear what they like. But by the standards set by the organisers of Her Majesty’s funeral people would be expected to dress a certain way. That’s just my opinion.

If I didn’t get vaccinated then I may not get deployed and therefore I wasn’t an effective member of the armed forces. So I don’t understand your argument. You give up certain freedoms in order to defend the rights of people to be free and live in a democracy. 2/-

How is it elitist to have a defence barrister? Have we become so dumbed down as a society that we can’t even understand the basic principles of the legal system?
@Channel4News
Disgusting as this is, I'm also concerned that if the police have been haphazard as to be taking selfies then there's a risk that the crime scene has been compromised and any future prosecution of the murderer will be tainted. Assuming of course that a perpetrator is caught.
