It's surprising that Google hasn't moved more quickly to integrate AI into parts of their existing distribution that would have minimal negative impact on ads, such as seamless AI integration into Gmail and Google Docs.

Consumers are already frequently copying and pasting text between Gmail/Docs and ChatGPT. I understand that self-disrupting search has numerous business model implications, necessitating greater caution, but I expected Gmail/Docs evolution to be faster.
