I tried over a dozen antidepressants for my “treatment-resistant” depression. It went away within 3 days on a #glutenfree diet. Been gluten-free & depression-free for 8 years now.

"Treatment resistant depression" (typically defined as 2 failed trails of ADs) was clearly coined to suggest a problem with the person rather than the approach It was created in a biopsychiatric vacuum, where the possibility of another approach (e.g. therapy) wasn't on the radar

I can’t explain it, but when my brain is fueled with ketones, it’s like I’ve been set free. Free from intrusive thoughts. Free from having to try so hard. Free from wondering why I struggle more than those around me. Free from constant cravings. #thankful #keto #ketosis

Your doctor is never going to say, “you know, I think all these pills I put you on are making you worse. Maybe you should find a doctor who looks for the underlying cause of your symptoms and can help you get off all these meds.” If you want that you’ll have to find it yourself.

@ElieJarrougeMD @lindy_lou_j This 1000%. It’s crazy that it takes going rogue from conventional medical advice to get better.

“Keto is complicated” -random comment What? I was Paleo for 7 years prior to this. Keto is a walk in the park. I eat mostly meat and fat, a little dairy, and the occasional nut or veggie. How much simpler can you get? 🤷🏼‍♀️

I entered the mental health system at age 13. At 18, I began pursuing an undergraduate degree in social work and psychology. At 29, I went back to school for a Master's Degree in Social Work. By 34, I realized that despite 20 years of treatment and over a decade of

I never received criticism for taking antidepressants or going to therapy. But when I share that I quit gluten for my mental health and that being in ketosis helps me- it can get intense! We have a long way to go in getting this message out- but we can’t give up! #foodheals

I’ve had several people ask if I’ve considered a carnivore diet. The answer is yes, but for now I’m sticking with #keto . There’s something about the fat that is really helping my brain. I’ve struggled with severe OCD my entire life and it’s better than it’s ever been.
