How is Friday going for everyone?
I just submitted my official letter of resignation to my day job. In less than a month, HueForge will be my full time job.
Excited, scared, nervous, relieved - all of these.
HueForge patches are the real deal!
@offearth3d
and
@CNC_Kitchen
I just need Velcro or some kind of adhesive Filament for the back. Printed on my Enderwire with a 0.2mm nozzle and 0.8mm layers.
At RMRRF I announced Color Match in the upcoming HueForge beta (eta about three weeks). This mode flips the script on making colorful HueForge creations by building the model based on the colors available on the color core and how well they match the image colors.
Pretty sure I'm not going to make a release tomorrow. Filament library import ended up blowing up in my face into a much bigger task than I'd accounted for. In the meantime, here are some prints from the last few days.
Going back to my HueForge roots with a couple of chess boards and some very distinct tile sets.
Come see me at the
@Polymaker_3D
booth at RAPID and see them in person!
First day self employed felt like playing hookie from class. I had to keep reminding myself it was okay to do HueForge related things.
I really liked it.
Just in case anyone doesn't know.
@Polymaker_3D
replied to a rando with an idea and some software on Twitter, invited him to run a channel in their discord, then after watching a livestream, sent him a printer and offered to make HueForge free for users.
All I did was say yes.
Needed something to keep the birds from flying into my kitchen window. Used
@hueforge
lithophane mode to turn an AI generated "stained glass" image into a two-part (Natural/red/black and Natural/green) print. Reversed green image for the two to mate flat side to flat side.
So many people demanded to know what these boxes were. I think
@AJAX_2500
has a much bigger thing going on here than he thinks. I'm super excited about these!
More Electronics
@EastRepRapFest
. The
@hueforge
filament sensor. Insert filament from the side, it measures proper lighting then determines RGB hexadecimal value. Very clever.
Here is a flyby of the HueForge decorations at the
@Polymaker_3D
booth at Rapid. I thought I had shared this already. Thanks again to Polymaker for letting me show off HueForge at Rapid + TCT!
You might think this looks familiar. But you can't make the spaceman look like this without Color Pop. I chose
#purpleforpezliz
because
@pezliz
is going through a hard time and having gone through a similar time in the fall, I know that people doing random nice things for me
Can you believe it's been a year since HueForge was released!?
To celebrate, HueForge will be automatically discounted to Launch Pricing for 24hrs from 12:00am EDT June 16th.
Renew your annual, upgrade, or finally jump in at the lowest price ever!
Thank you all for your support!
Beyond thrilled how this came out overnight. Used all eight AMS slots but so worth it! And before you ask, this is now an example project in v0.7.0-beta-2 and will be in the full release too.
Love how this Pokémon Yellow Box Cover came out with
@hueforge
! I know these aren’t supposed to be back lit but this specific one back lit makes it look like the Electricity is literally flowing through and around Pikachu 😏 ⚡️⚡️
After returning from RMRRF, I decided to take the first week back as off as I could and play video games/spend time with my family. It was great but I kinda kept feeling like I was supposed to be doing work.
But this week I've started trying to work more reasonable hours and
I'm really liking the shell method of Filament calibration. It's not finalized, but I plan on adding it to v0.7.0 when it is released WITH full instructions on how to read the results!
First ERRF in the books. Had an amazing time there! I really wish I could have gotten up to the exhibitors upstairs but the booth was so busy that I barely had time to walk around the floor.
I learned some lessons and one is to have a MUCH better 60s pitch! Sorry,
@joeltelling
I wanted to announce that this morning I'm officially launching HueForge Professional as a Membership on Thangs. (Link in the comments). The goals is to make it easy and affordable to make money selling model files generated with HueForge.
OMG! It is too early to be certain, but I think I just broke through my coding block. I'm certain there are bugs to be squashed, but the major issues appear to be solved with v0.7.0 and it's going to be a couple of weeks of testing now. I hope I don't end up having to UNDO it.
This is where HueForge is heading. Controlled color separation and more and more filaments accurately categorized. Made with mostly
@Prusa3D
Prusament PLA.
Running in a custom test build
Tanmay has been consistently producing excellent prints in the Discord. If you want to follow someone with real talent, you should definitely give him a follow!
In collaboration with
@emberprototypes
I feel like I've upped my RMRRF giveaway game! Get one of a limited number of themed build plates by stopping by the HueForge booth and entering a drawing. (Bambu and Mks styles available)
I don't get to print that many Filament Paintings these days. It's not without flaws, but this version of color aware is clearly starting to get there.
My new boss seems pretty cool. He didn't mind me getting into the office at 10, but he really wants me to get organized. I even wrangled lunch and coffee out of him.
Did a bit of
@hueforge
work. This time it's a single plate model 😅
Got another one lined up with multiple plates too, but still working on that one 👷♂️
I've uploaded my first stone tile to Thangs for your printing enjoyment! This one is PRETTY picky on filaments, but an orange or light blue could probably sub in for the Gray Blue if you don't have it (it's fantastic and you should)
At RMRRF I was selling some of the first spools of Chrominal Filament.
It was a slow launch on my website getting my distributer properly set up for US distribution and shipping integration (it was way harder than it should be) but it's DONE!
I'm finally really coming out of my flu fog, just in time to go full time. As a result, I feel pretty good in saying that v0.7.0 should come out by the end of next week.
GUYS!! Officially can tell you that THIS is what I worked on a few months ago!
@hueforge
prints for the collectors edition of James Patterson’s new book!
The team at
@HachetteUS
were so amazing to work with the entire time, I am so grateful for the opportunity 😁🌋

So I know the REAL big news is that the TD-1 is now officially launched! ()
But I also did a thing: HueForge RMRRF Merch launched on my store last night -
To everyone who said my family should love Fallout on Prime even if they aren't familiar with the games. I honestly think my wife is enjoying it more than I am at this point.
You don't always need a bunch of colors to make a really compelling filament painting. Sometimes just two is enough.
@BambulabGlobal
Matte Black and Cream White PLA. 1 swap.

fun ~ my 2 year old niece is obsessed with Pikachu so I made her a giant hueforge hybrid pop art card 🥰
175 x 240mm, almost maxing out the bed lol.

More testing of the 0.7.0 version of
@hueforge
and just LOOK at brilliant it is!!
The ‘colour pop’ allowed these two colours to be split so well, and each split has its own individual blending.
Also, peep how EXACT the preview prediction came out!

@CNC_Kitchen
I'm testing out HueForge in TPU (all
@Polymaker_3D
colors). This is my first attempt and it's not perfect, as usual white is the biggest issue, but it is totally doable.
Release is going to be Saturday. I'll get a full test build to my testers today, but I won't be able to release until they have had time with the full build. (And I've had a chance to check out the MacOS build too)
I have hit nearly all my milestones and am just working on the
Okay, news on HueForge v0.7.0 release. It's going to be staged as a Beta to Commercial Tiers first, then go out to the Personal Use users, hopefully within a week after release. Aiming for Friday and I feel pretty good about it as a Beta release.
I don't know how Content Creators do it. I'm tired enough keeping up with my community on one platform with one piece of software. To constantly have to come up with new engaging content has got to be exhausting.
In case you missed it. I've partnered with
@Thangs3D
to offer HueForge Professional as a monthly Membership to make it more accessible to create and sell HueForge model files.
Link in the comments.
v0.7.0 Full release is OUT. There is an issue with the update EMAILS going to Personal Use accounts. I think it overwhelmed the system. BUT the files are in your download page which is the same one you got an email for before (or your order email) so you don't have to wait!
Looks like I got my wish. I'm not totally better, but a couple of Tylenol when I woke up and I've felt pretty okay all morning! Merry Christmas everyone.
Lil faux alien blueprint,
@hueforge
in the depths of Roswell.
Kidding. Just me with another
@BambulabGlobal
P1P print. Looks fairly 3D, but it’s 2mm thick :)
Uploaded to
@Thangs3D
and Makerworld!
(It’s still verifying on Makerworld lol)

I think I finally reached my main goal that I've set out when I started creating the shadow boxes. I used
@hueforge
to create this Bob Ross inspired shadow box. I find it truly awesome & beautiful.
Now available on
@Thangs3D
Emails are going out, but as usual, your old Digital Downloads Pro links are good. That's right! HueForge v0.7.1 Full Release is out bringing all the new features to Personal Use including TD-1 integration and a LOT of quality of life updates surrounding Color Aware!

Now they've created HueForge virtual filament packs:

These aren't just random spools thrown together, but carefully selected colors and TDs with example prints to show what can be done with the included colors.
A huge thank you to everyone buying HueForge on release day! It's way way more than I ever expected.
I'm going to be checking out for tonight, having some dinner and going to bed. I might resurface after lunch tomorrow. I need sleep.
HueForge can HueForge it's own logo now, but that comes with a cost of more filaments. You might need another AMS. Good news, they are on sale.
Please support your favorite creator by using their affiliate link. If you want to support me, here is mine:
Took a break from Filament Import to do something fun and also requested this morning - it wasn't originally on my list at all for v0.7.0 but I've learned enough working on this build to make it easy.
I've now spent a day-and-a-half on my Color Pop "quick side project to get a break" but you know what? In that day and a half I tracked down multiple performance bugs and issues with new features I likely would not have caught any other way.
So it was time well spent. Plus it
I will say that photos don't properly show the results, but this box makes testing really easy. I'll be making a couple of tweaks then releasing the models with full F3D/STEP files so you can adapt to your favorite light source. (I'm using 5v USB COB LEDs)
I will accept some credit for making HueForge, but the Polymaker coupon was ALL their idea. And it definitely cost them real money.
Please show them some love, they have been absolutely amazing to HueForge and the 3D printing community.
@esun3dfilament
Hey, how about you credit
@cyanidesugar_
for her models when you use them to advertise your filament? It's really not hard to do the right thing here.
Home from my first ever RMRRF! It was a blast but really exhausting. Going to sleep in and play some video games for the next few days and try not to think about the next HueForge update.
Just an FYI - update isn't coming this weekend, I'm playing laser tag with my son and his friends to celebrate his birthday. Hopefully still get it out first half of the week.
