Bazelon had an incredible opportunity here to describe how hard it is for (the vast majority of) trans kids to access care, for a multitude of reasons including poor health care coverage in the US, but instead she chose to listen to people who want to END transition.

My grandfather was a methodist minister. He taught his kids that suffering was a *good* sign, an indication that you weren't taking more than your fair share. My grandfather grew up during the great depression, when scarcity was real. Someone with meant someone without.
