My experience as a gay man.
Number of times I have felt unsafe using a men's toilet:
thousands.
Number of times I have used a women's toilet to feel safer:
zero.
The responsibility for making men's toilets safe for all men rests with men.
We can't outsource the job to women.
Where was this parade of women when Julia Gillard was actually being bullied?
When Brittney Higgins was being shamed into silence?
When Morrison monstered Christine Holgate in parliament?
These women are shameless opportunistic hypocrites.
This cosplay fake fools no one.

@OzKaterji
Just when we thought there were no more lessons to learn from the fall of Rome, a mutinous mercenary army marches on an emperor protected by a praetorian guard, and the underpaid regular army stands on the sidelines.
@adamajacoby
Why in earth would they do that?
Joyce has been in lockstep with his board.
They won’t get rid of him.
It’s the whole board that needs to go.
@3wombats
@xskinn
Ministers are accountable to parliament.
They can't be accountable if parliament doesn't know who they are.
So even if commissioning Morrison was legal, keeping it secret from parliament cannot be legal.
This is disgusting.
In what other context would men get away with bullying an 80 year old woman.
In what other context could they claim to be "progressive" for doing it?
The 80-year-old woman who was banned from her local swimming pool for raising concerns about a male in the female washroom was heckled as she gave a speech tonight.
Trans activists ripped down the suffragette flags behind her and tried to sabotage her microphone.

Nothing you or
@stonewallUK
did was in keeping with the law.
You illegally provided legal advice.
And you provided it on the basis of what you wished the law would be one day.
Not on the basis of what the law actually was at the time.
You should be in gaol.
@michaelpforan
The term "trans" does not describe people who "believe in gender identity".
It describes people who are "born in the wrong body".
Such a thing is clearly nonsense.
There is no pre-existing "person" waiting to be inserted into a body.
We are not separable from our bodies.
@crystalwillseeu
Ahistorical & wrong. At no point were women welcome in men's toilets. Instead, the lack of public toilets for women was used to keep women out of public spaces. Women's toilets are a hard-won right, to enable women's full participation in public life, not a patriarchal holdover.
@Docstockk
It also reveals how shallow (not to mention how conventional, conservative and homophobic) India's understanding of gender really is, even before they start conflating it with biological sex.
@marquelawyers
Of course it doesn't occur to Prue that Indigenous Lands and Waters have been contaminated for over 200 years precisely because Indigenous Peoples have had no Voice.
When you don’t have the power to make actual changes, protest is your last resort, and may be the only way you can drive change.
But when you have the power to make actual changes, what are you protesting against if not your own inaction?

So many women don’t have access to affordable nendtrusl products. But it’s a priority to put these machines in men’s toilets?
Why are the 0.02% of the population who might use these more important than the 52% who desperately need them?
Because patriarchy.

Surely a life without surgery and life-long dependence on medications is a preferable outcome to life after several surgical procedures and a lifelong dependence on medication?
Predictable that most commentators are trying to say that the real message from Saturday's election was anything other than a Labor victory.
Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.
We're in government.
That's the message that matters most.

Children under 10 cannot be criminally responsible for their actions.
They cannot commit trespass.
Therefore they cannot be subject to "citizen's arrest".
And a "citizen's arrest" only entitles you to use reasonable force not zip ties.
Where did you get your law degree, racists?
The people describing the zip-tying of a seven-year-old as a 'citizen's arrest' can just FRO.
Unfollow me, block me, I don't want you anywhere near my timeline.
Or my country, for that matter.
@mushycrouton
@helenstaniland
As a gay man - like me - why does this concern you?
Women and girls want this.
They know what is in their best interests.
Why do you assume to know their interests better than them?
Especially since you go to such (unnecessary) pains to point out that you are not a woman.
Time to change up the panel.
Niki Sava's only value was as a dissident Liberal insider. She has nothing to offer now Labor is in government and Phil Coorey should take some time out to reflect on his personal responsibility for inflicting the Morrison Govt on the country.

One of the worst pieces of drivel I have ever read.
Assertions of "similarity" are not an argument.
Your comparisons are offensive.
What is "similar in style" even meant to mean?
Unless you are referring to a jacket.
You conflate sex & gender and ignore questions of materiality.
But this is a misrepresentation.
They didn't defeat politicians from the two major parties.
They defeated Liberal Party politicians in seats Labor never expected to win.

Next week,

goes behind the scenes with some of the Independent women who defied the odds and defeated high profile politicians from the two major parties.
But Rowling doesn't even have a stance on trans rights.
@jk_rowling
has a stance on the rights of women and girls.
This is biased writing (and even more wilfully biased illustration) but worse than that, it's lazy writing.
This is not a left/right issue.
J.K. Rowling may profess to be unconcerned about her legacy, but it’s becoming increasingly likely that her stance on trans rights — perhaps as much as her novels — will be what defines it.
@TheRealPBarry
I think the way in which you have missed the whole point of Matthew's tweet (despite the hashtags) is a really clear demonstration of how different your experience as a man on television is from that of your female colleagues.
The ALP's secret weapon in this election is every single coalition MP, from Scott Morrison down.
We need Peter Dutton, Barnaby Joyce, Alan Tudge, Jane HUme and the whole cast of grifters on TV and radio every day to remind voters how venally stupid this government is.

Aro is an umbrella term used by people who don’t typically experience a desire to have romantic contact or interaction with an individual.
Others may feel attraction occasionally, or varying levels at different times.

As a gay man that flag is an abomination. The original rainbow flag included everyone because it represented no one. That flag excludes people by representing some groups. And people with DSD do not want to be called "intersex".
Burn that flag!

Argument by analogy is completely invalid.

If a company has a race quota to meet for affirmative action purposes, would you support a white person who identifies as black (such as Rachel Dolezal) counting towards the quota?
@noplaceforsheep
Agreed.
This pushback always comes when you try to move from the demographic level to the personal level.
Almost every offender is a "good man" to some people who love them.
Just as people might accept that marriage is a flawed institution, but their marriage is always "special".

Fight for equality.
BUT APART FROM THAT?
Nothing.,
SEE! She's done NOTHING for women!

I wonder where she puts people from the subcontinent?
How dark does your skin need to be to be black and experience racism?
What about Asian people?
If not black or white, are they "coloured"?
Her classification system has more in common with SA apartheid than she will admit.

No one was ever excluded from the original pride flag, because no part of it specifically represented anyone.
It represented inclusion holistically.
That was its genius.
As soon as you try to include anyone through representation, you implicitly exclude everyone unrepresented.
@reclaimingtrans
You do realise that International Women's Day literally belongs to women?
You're basically accusing Mexicans of "co-opting" quesadillas!
Surely gay men and lesbians are the core people whose rights Pride was invented to protect?
How on earth can lesbians be unwelcome at a Pride event?
You have nothing to be proud of.
You should be ashamed of yourselves.
And you know that - that is why your tweet was "no reply".
South Africa has once again filed a request with the ICJ—this time due to Israel using starvation as a strategy in their genocide that has lead to at least 17 children dying of malnutrition.

I'm attracted to the male anatomy including a male throat, a real penis and real testicles, a male chest, male waist, hips and buttocks and male muscle insertion and attachment patterns in the legs in particular.

I am almost in tears right now, thinking of all the children in Rafah, many of them already orphans, who will not wake up tomorrow.

Why are you promoting a book by a homophobe who once said that "gay men are just trans women who are too scared to go all the way"?
What kind of impact would that have on young gay men?
@Cmacf76
As for that f*cking abomination of a flag in your header.
The pride flag is inclusive because no stripe seeks to represent anyone.
There is no stripe for gay men or lesbians or bi people.
When you start adding wedges to represent people, you exclude anyone who isn't represented.
@ChoooCole
He may have started using it in a particular way, but he didn't invent the word.
English borrowed "gender" from the old French "gendre" in the middle ages & feminism has used it to refer to sociocultural stereotypes (as opposed to biological sex) for decades (see point 2 below).
@colonelhogans
@smh
Interesting spin in making “working classes” plural.
There’s only one working class.
This suggests Dutton is trying a reverse spin to John Howard’s appeal to the “aspirationally affluent” and wants to appeal to the “bourgeois battlers”. The middle class who feel aggrieved.

I "reckon" the wall to wall coverage was beyond excessive and we "deserved" better coverage of other important events and less of this bullshit.
The Queen's death was newsworthy.
Details of her funeral of niche interest only & this sort of gossip belonged in lifestyle magazines.

But also darling being attracted to people on the basis of their biological sex IS ABSOLUTELY NOT TRANSPHOBIC.
That is called being straight or gay.
We are not all obliged to be bi or pan.
Sex and gender are two different things.
