Judge Lina Hidalgo just held a press conference at our Fairbanks-North Houston Stormwater Detention Basin! The project is part of the White Oak Bayou Flood Risk Reduction Project, a $124 million joint effort with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

is monitoring the potential for heavy rainfall over the area with a flash flood threat Monday night into Tuesday morning.
The flood operations team will monitor gages that measure rainfall amounts and water levels in bayous.

is continuing to monitor rainfall trends as additional rainfall will be possible this morning. With grounds saturated, additional heavy rainfall will likely result in increasing run-off and rapid rise on creeks & bayous with potential flooding.

All channels remain in their banks at this time. Turkey creek, Armand bayou, and Clear creek are elevated and will be monitored tonight into Wednesday.
This week is Hurricane Preparedness Week! Know the difference between “watches” and “warnings”. A Hurricane Watch means hurricane conditions are possible within 48 hours. A Hurricane Warning means hurricane conditions are expected within 36 hours.

The Buffalo Speedway bridge over Brays Bayou is now open to traffic and available for use! The new bridge is higher, longer and wider, to allow a larger volume of water to flow under more freely.
