It confuses me that psychiatrists should be interested in the mind, yet their practices imply the opposite: They often just prescribe medicines that dull the mind. In my experience, psychiatrists aren't even interested in what's on your mind. Their primary tool is psychodropics.

Some of my friends have taken recreational drugs and they are perfectly fine. I was prescribed a medicine that was supposed to fix a chemical imbalance. We now know there never was one. My whole nervous system, body and soul was destroyed instead. Trust the medical field? #PSSD

Antidepressants can lead to physical changes in the genitals. Dr. Ahad Waraich, through the use of ultrasounds, has detected penile scarring (fibrosis) in young men experiencing #PSSD . The penile tissue of young PSSD patients usually resembles that of an 80-year-old person.

We need psychiatry (we don’t) to help people survive with their mental issues. Then we need a ton of other services to help people who where in contact with psychiatry. Too often, people don’t regain their health and self after psychiatric treatment. Is there any sense in this?

BBC: Experts say there is not always time to discuss loss of sexual function and suicide risk when prescribing depression drugs. If there is too little time to discuss these issues, it is obviously unethical and therefore malpractice to prescribe the drugs

You must also know that WHO recommends psychological intevention above AD:s based on risks vs. benefits? 😢 I was perfect following the guidelines but I also used SSRI:s. I feel so bad what I may have caused to my kids. I was told depression is neither good for fetus so the benefits would outweight the risks. But what SSRI:s have done to me, I doubt that now.

@abcsoka I find it rather odd how Drs will say when you’re pregnant do NOT eat soft cheese, do NOT eat any meat with blood in it, do NOT drink alcohol or consume drugs, BUT It’s totally fine to pump your body with synthetic chemicals (psych meds) that we made in a lab. Like wot….

@DrJessTaylor Do you know what the percentage of women using antidepressants in the UK is? The harm caused by antidepressants is a gendered issue, as women are prescribed antidepressants about twice as often as men.

@Aerea_caeles You can get PSSD from 1 pill and there’s nothing a doctor can do about it after that. AD:s are prescribed very lightly. Even that wouldn’t be a problem, if people where told about the risks and could decide themselves. None of us having PSSD would’ve taken the risk if we knew.

@DrJessTaylor Thank you for raising awareness. I have been suffering from this for over 20 years. Life with this condition is inhumane. This should never be done to anyone. I though for many years I was the only one in the world for whom SSRI:s had done this.We deserve recognition and a cure.

"This sacred part of the human experience has been stolen from me." Some children will never develop normal sexual function because of antidepressants they were given at a young age. Both parents and children are not given informed consent about #PSSD .
