My ancestors were ministers of Palaaygara of Yedatore, later served Mysore odeyars. Bhakshi Tippayya saved baby Krishnaraja III from Tippu, brought him up incognito for few years and brought back to Mysore after 1799. He was an educator for the king, and later was a minister.

A copper plate inscription from Vijayanagara times, in #NandiNagari script- now in #Dharmasthala museum. king’s signature is in #Kannada script - as Sri Virupaksha. Hampi was considered to be ruled by Shiva himself - and the Rayas adapted that signature.

Want to read books like Ramayana/Mahabharata? follow the steps: 1. Read in Samskrta if you can 2. Read an abridged version translated into an Indian language, ideally your mother tongue 3.Look for Valmiki/Vyasa in title 3.Avoid fan-fiction/names like Devdutt/Amish like plague 🙏

If you see a claim there were no free standing temples before 5th C, do not believe! Many such temples have not survived because they were built of brick & wood. Many such have been excavated (exposing the base & layout)at Talakadu, Talagunda etc dating from Kadamba & Ganga

#Karnataka in #Kashi 😃. The Karnataka Bhavana was built by #Odeyars of #Mysuru . I was told #Vijayanagara ghat was built during #Krishnadevaraya 's reign.

Bogus claim by a bluetick. Even the word pulao comes from the samskta word pulAka. ( There has been influence from out side of India in to India and vice versa - But .. a big big but - we don't have to listen to every nonsense spread by blue tick accounts)

How an alien cult pushed taxes in our own land for practicing our own culture. Sadly enough, people are unaware of predatory nature of such cults & instead talk about "how it spread through concepts of peace and equality" blah. Large populations could not pay up and converted.
