Here’s an anecdote…Sam used to run a vegan cafe in our village, when my wife broke her foot he brought a smoothie round to her and refused payment….a genuinely lovely guy….

Anecdotally all my family have COVID and seems not to be in lungs and is quite mild…more body aches and headaches….I have had worse colds but understand this is a very small sample of 3!
@michelleeb
My daughter did a degree in costume construction and they had to do this as one of their first activities...proper sets proper lighting and authentic costumes which they produced

Not all people from Essex! James Cleverly came to our door canvassing and my feisty 4' 11" wife gave him both barrels...he's not been back 😂
@EnPrimeurLefty
I live in Essex.....there are plenty of good people here but we are constantly fighting the idiots....lots of us are escapees from London though - despite stereotypes parts of Essex are beautiful and rural...
@bobscartoons
Why don’t you pop over and find out as I’m sure it’s all fake and you won’t be hurt….I mean 2 million refugees are probably worrying about nothing…

I'm a higher rate tax payer and I'm happy to pay those taxes. Yes it benefits my Type 1 diabetic daughter who pays nothing for insulin or state of the art pumps and monitors. I'm happy it benefits other members of the society to which I belong as well. 👍
@Utilit_Aria
I don’t even like opera but your tweet is so sad….there are many people who love opera who are not posh (my parents for example) so why should we not subsidise this art as we do others 😢🤷♂️
@I_amMukhtar
James Cleverly came to our door a few years ago....my 4' 11" wife gave him both barrels but without the swearing....he hasn't been back this time 😬

Highest rate I pay is 40%, live in a £800k house, daughter is a type 1 diabetic, all treatment included in our universal healthcare, 5 weeks holiday a year, no guns, or religious nutters, I can even get good coffee..yeah the weather isn’t always great 🤷♂️

Basketball is not popular in the UK....I had no clue who he was until I came into this thread and never heard his name before 🤷

“Everyone is poor in the north”…..what a ridiculous sweeping generalisation and also untrue….I am from Newcastle and there are plenty of rich or just comfortably well off people there….
@BurnsideNotTosh
Weird…my daughter lives in South London and looks fine to me…even Peckham is now a hotbed of gastronomy. So much so I went there for a night out recently…🤷♂️

Chronically ill could mean someone like my daughter who has type 1 diabetes and frequent checkups but it doesn't stop her performing as she has a first class honours degree...
@GoodwinMJ
And yet when the Daily Mail, Telegraph, Daily Express and Sun columns come up on my feed they don’t reflect my worldview at all but these are the biggest selling newspapers in the UK… 🤷♂️🙄 I’m obviously not elite enough… 😂
@SBarrettBar
And if you read the article it says the flight of millionaires has been happening for a decade and Brexit has been factor…so not so simple to say labour are in and millionaires are leaving 🤷🏻
Interesting..Hempflax are one of the biggest growers of hemp/cannabis....Chairman is Guy Winterflood who is a non-exec director of green care capital...along with none other than Nicholas Lee....article says Hempflax are looking to list in London 😁

Genetically English? Have they identified the genes related to being English? If you understood our country then you would know it is a country of invaders....I'm genetically mostly Celtic but also English, British, European and a member of the human race....

As someone who works in IT, my guess is that a lot of people involved at the time have left Fujitsu since and the knowledge of the why just isn’t there any more. Contractors in particular will be long gone due to IR35

No they followed the rules as defined by the tory government....the rules could have been tighter if we wanted them to be so why weren't they? Non EU migration is nothing to do with the EU.

That’s surprising as when I visited even the cheapest wines were excellent quality and Alentejo seemed to produce some excellent reds….e.g Herdade do Esporao
@GoodwinMJ
As the vast majority of immigration is legal, surely it is not uncontrolled as such but subject to the rules the government set….now you can think the rules are too loose which is another question…

Having lived in London for 25 years but now outside for 17 these attitudes amaze me….London has always been a melting pot but now we can get better food even in places that used to be shitholes and in general it feels better rather than worse…but bloody expensive
@LizGabayMW
I liked the Rose de Xinomavro by Thymiopolous…..easily available from the Wine Society and a serious drop and beautiful orange-pink colour!

Wow! This is probably my favourite Tarkovsky film…some of the scenes are visually breathtaking and have stayed with me since I saw it in the 80s….I mean Oppenheimer was a boring film and grossly overrated imho.

I'm going to defend Borough Market slightly as there is some good food there such as Elliots, Kolae, Richard Haward oysters, Monmouth Coffee but it is a massive tourist trap....much better to walk 15 mins to Maltby street market

Agreed…I am about to embark on my third reading, reading in parallel with the The Odyssey as the chapters obviously match….so Odyssey chapter first then Ulysses. This time I have a guidebook to help with some of the harder parts!

Any gas extracted will be sold on the international market by private companies….unless they legislate to keep the fuel in the UK, this will make no difference to our fuel security or the gas price…quantities will be tiny in any case

No it’s probably just nostalgia….I lived there for 25 years and it changes as it always does and the interesting places change….Peckham used to be shit but is now a vibrant foodie destination but still nicely grotty

Way ahead of you…been twice this year….my restaurant of the year so far 😬😁 Fortunately I live quite close….also Pea Porridge is great and their wine list is amazing!

Without looking I’m guessing that these are nominee accounts for many small shareholders who invest their savings, pensions in these companies so I doubt much power is conferred as a result
