So crazy that Belgium only has 3 senior skaters in the entire country (even at the domestic level) and 2 of them made the GPF. Shows that you can be a strong athlete even without coming from a major skating federation! Way to go girls!

@vmstagemom It was pretty interesting. She was a very experienced singles skater who trained for 3 months in pairs. Only got to throw single loop and basic lifts, pretty realistic progress imo. they tried some lifts on their own before being taught tho which was scary

I’m very curious as to who will be on the women’s podium at Europeans this year. I think definitely Loena, and Nina Pinzaronne also has a good chance. Nastya won last year but has had an a really bad season, Kimmy is injured and Katya hasn’t had a great season

I don’t understand the controversy around quad axels. If a skater can do it safely and healthily, why not do it? If Ilia were constantly falling and was dealing with injury it would be a different story but he clearly knows what he’s doing

Are there any other sports where someone gets to “decide” who qualifies for comps? Like for example in hockey the team who wins the most games goes to the Stanley cup final. But in FS the federation just choose who they like the most, regardless of their results that season.

@QuadAxel3Toe I mean piper and Paul did still end up winning overall. Obviously there was a mistake on the twizzles in the SP, but that happens sometimes! Dudek/Deschamps had a nightmare skate but so did every other pair. Maddie 5th when she was up against some major conpetitors is pretty good
