Precisely. And Fringe's lending platform (just released to mainnet) does exactly this. Borrowers aren't forced to take on unnecessary exposure to platform risk. Borrowers on Fringe are always able to withdraw their collateral, irrespective of the utilisation-rate.

DeFi money market protocols like Aave and Compound should allow borrowers to opt-out of lending their collateral If the protocol were to be drained, borrowers who opted out would be completely fine This seems like a no-brainer risk management decision, why hasn’t it been done?
