Agree with him or not, like him or not, Dr Ashley Bloomfield should be knighted once we get through this. His service to Aotearoa New Zealand has been outstanding. People have been given this honour for much less than helping to manage the nation through a pandemic.

To those who compare C19 measures to Nazi Germany, stop it. It’s offensive. Millions died in the Holocaust, targeted for extermination by the state. This is more like measures to control the Spanish flu. Feel free to disagree with the govt, but don’t make offensive comparisons.

People of faith - stay away from today's protests. There has been chatter about violence, storming Parliament, arresting the Prime Minister and worse. This is not something we should be associated with or enable by bolstering their numbers. This is not who we are.

It seems to me that from here Michelle Boag should not be used in media commentary roles, and Hamish Walker should be stood down from Parliament. These actions were not simply an error of judgment. Both would have known that what they were doing was completely wrong.

I am a product of NZ's welfare. As a child I was fed, clothed, housed, and educated thanks to welfare. It was far from easy, but I am very grateful. I am now doing well, but hate the beneficiary bashing from those who have no understanding of the complexity of poverty. #nzpol

It’s worth noting, for those who feel overwhelmed by anti-vaxxers, that they they are a shrinking group. As the number of vaccinated people over 12 grows, we increasingly see that the vast majority are on board with the vaccine as the way forward. Be encouraged.

People trying to give validation to conspiracies about Clarke Gayford by saying ‘where there’s smoke there’s fire.’ It’s the wrong analogy. It’s more like vomit from ingesting vile rubbish. ‘Like a dog that returns to its vomit, is a fool who reverts to his folly.’ Prov 26:11

Whatever our views on the current situation, deliberately entering a Subway to harass the young staff, calling them a pack of Nazis, and filming yourself doing so, is unacceptable behaviour from adults who should know better. They don't deserve it. It's a bullying ego-trip.

Just FYI, most Christian ministers in the country are like me - have/are being vaxed. We’re not scared of COVID. We do it because we spend time with the vulnerable and interact with a large variety of people, so it’s the responsible thing to do. It serves the common good.

One of the purposes of Te Tiriti o Waitangi was to give Māori the protection of the Crown in the face of settler abuse. So when the govt upholds the mana of Māori in a way that upsets many Pākehā, it’s most likely that the Crown is doing its job.

For those choosing not to get vaccinated, if our hospitals get overrun as they have in other countries, it means that other vulnerable people needing care for other conditions will miss out and suffer. We do this for the greater good.

If you’re not aware of Kirikiriroa as the other name of Hamilton, it’s worth becoming familiar with. There are those of us who much prefer it and would happily make the change.

Yesterday my wife and I celebrated 20 years of marriage. Our life circumstances are hard at the moment as we navigate our daughter's health and the need to get her to Germany for surgery, but I'm grateful that we've got each other and a supportive community to lean on 🙏🏻

Just FYI if you’ve been taken to hospital in an ambulance because of breathing issues caused by COVID, describing it as ‘mild’ is a tad inaccurate and perpetuates risk to the lives of others who are listening to you. Being hospitalised is not evidence of an average health issue.

Whilst I am sad at the loss of Queen Elizabeth II & am someone who deeply respected her faith, the monarchy itself is not squeaky clean. Therefore it is understandable that various sentiments are being expressed today. All are entitled to share their view. 🙏🏻

It’s a sad state of affairs when a critique of the opposition is heard as full support of the govt. I want a solid opposition because of rates of poverty, emergency housing need, overburdened food banks, mental illness etc where the current govt is floundering.
