During extreme heat, cooling down in an air-conditioned building is your best bet. If your home does not have AC, try going to a public building like a library or shopping mall for a few hours to beat the heat. For more information, go to #BeatTheHeatOhio

If there are downed trees and debris on your property after last night's storm, be sure to check with local officials about how to remove large items. Wear protective clothing & thick-soled shoes while cleaning to protect yourself from broken glass, exposed nails & other objects.

Last night's storm left communities riddled with downed power lines, trees and debris. If there are downed lines near your property, call 9-1-1 to report them. Please don't touch them, they may still be live.

Many communities across the region have been hammered with rain over the past several days and more rain is expected through the night in some areas. Floods are possible. Please stay safe. Remember, it's dangerous to drive and walk through flood waters. Turn around. Don't drown.

Severe thunderstorms with strong winds are on the radar for several states across the region. Listen to local forecasts so you know what the threat level is near your home. A WATCH means a storm is possible in your area. A WARNING means a storm is already heading your way.

The remnants of #HurricaneBeryl could affect every corner of #Illinois through the night. Think through any paths you normally use (driving, walking, biking) and whether they could be impacted by #flooding or #flashflooding . #ILWx

As the remnants of Beryl track toward the region today, scattered severe thunderstorms capable of damaging winds and a few tornadoes are possible to the east of the low pressure center. The best chance of severe weather is south of I-70 during the afternoon/evening. #ILwx
