We wish HRH The Princess Royal a very happy 70th birthday. Her Royal Highness has been our Commandant-in-Chief since 1981 and has supported many events. We are grateful for her time and encouragement, and we are proud to carry her name as the Princess Royal’s Volunteer Corps.
Members of the Corps took part in today’s National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph. Active and Associate members marched past the Cenotaph after the main service to represent the current members of the Corps and all those who have gone before.
The Corps remembers long-serving member Laura Lean, who died earlier this year in September. Laura was a member of the Corps for many years, and held several roles within the FANY. Laura is remembered in The Daily Telegraph today, which can be read in full

We are so sorry to hear that SOE and FANY Veteran Jean Argles has passed away. Jean enrolled in the Corps on her 18th birthday and worked as a Code and Cipher Officer for resistance and underground operations in Northern Europe and then in Cairo and Italy.
May she rest in peace.

we remember with pride, Christine Granville (Krystyna Skarbek) OBE GM CdeG, SOE agent, who died on 15 June 1952. She was the first female agent in the field, and one of the most successful, operating in Poland, Hungary, Syria and Egypt. More:

Over 40 members of the First Aid Nursing Yeomanry (PRVC) provided support to the Accession Council in London on Saturday 10 September.
Members of the Corps assisted with the running of the event and supported the organising team.

➡️ During the past month, Corps members have been supporting the Afghan Relocation and Assistance Programme.
➡️ 39 of our volunteers have deployed to assist Afghan evacuees whilst they have been staying in bridging hotels.
The Colours Parade took place with the Passing Out Parade of the 2023 cohort of Recruits, which marks the end of their training phase. The transfer of the Corps took effect on 1 February 2023.

, we remember that on 7 May 1948, the FANY unveiled its memorial plaque to its war dead at St Paul’s Church, Knightsbridge. On it were inscribed the names of 52 FANYs who had died on duty overseas and in the UK. Read more:

We are delighted to announce that one of our veterans, Phyllis Doyle MBE (née Latour), code-named ‘Genevieve’, is having a street named after her. Read more here:
One year ago today, the Prime Minister ordered the country into lockdown. During the past 12 months, Corps members have been deployed to help nine different organisations in their fight against COVID-19 and our 130 volunteers have given 1,047 days of support.
Today we proudly remember our long Corps history. These FANYs were amongst the very few women still in uniform in 1923 after the Armistice. Despite the medals they wear, including Military Medals for bravery under fire, several did not get the vote until 1928.

in 1918, the St Omer Convoy was evacuating patients after a bombing raid. During the evacuation there was a second wave of bombing but the FANYs and VADs who formed the Convoy refused to take cover and continued transporting patients. Read more:
