Here is a picture of grandpappy planting the corn with a 12 row planter and a 4020 back in the 60s. He had two consecutive serial number 4020s that year with 2 of these 12 row planters for his 850 acres of corn. The planters were actually the first two Deere sold
@MachineryPete
A buddy of mine called and said he needed some help getting his planter unstuck. I went out to look and realized he was screwed. I flew my drone over the site to survey it and told him he was on his own and walked away.

Jack Fletcher was my great uncle on my moms side. My dad took this picture of him in 1980 after he has just purchased 20 brand new Steigers. Jack has always been an inspiration to me and I’ve always strived to be like him.
Uncle Eddy and Grandpappy were very proud of this corn! This is back when they used to have their 86 cow dairy south of Pana, IL. The variety is YieldMaster 69SL and grew to nearly 20 feet tall!

I guess you can say fall is going a little rough for us. We’ve been using the big Brent wagons behind the tractors because we can haul 2000 bu to town legally with an SMV. Kerry was going over this bridge when the back wagon fell through and the hitch pin broke. Be careful!
Day one of
#tillage21
didn’t go so well in the South Pana bottoms.
Kerry and Terry were running dUH rippas and apparently picked the same AB line without knowing it until it was too late.
Both tractors had less than 69 hours on them
I was weed wacking around some telephone poles this afternoon and hear a loud crash. I turned around and seen Grandpappys 4440 on it’s side. My heart sank as I knew I was going to have to chew his ass out. At 96 years old and legally blind there’s no excuse for this 😡😡😡😡
Grandpappy’s semi broke down and we really needed to get that load of corn into the Coop before they closed. Since Grandpappy is old and can’t dolly the trailer down he took matters into his own hands. Thanks to Big Al’s Towing & Recovery for getting the job done!!!
#harvest19
Fucking Kerry shouldn’t have parked the new 8R next to the leg when we were trying to change a down pipe in a 40 mph crosswind. When we gots $8 kern to haul we get in a hurry. Tractor is totaled out with 69 hours 😡😡😡😡😡
Kerry went out and decided he was going to cut down a Christmas tree for himself today. Seriously, the boy can’t do anything without wrecking a piece of equipment 🙄
Got the second planter rolling for
#kern2020
Putting on every single product I seen in the Farm magazine last month. Hoping to add 100-150bu to my top end. We go in furrow bioshit, we got dat 2 ba 2 naatragin ITS ALL GOIN ON THE KERN!!!!!!
Unpopular Opinion: The small group of farmers that absolutely hate President Trump with a passion won’t ever be happy until they can sell $6 kern across the scale in the fall, pay their operating, make the lake house payment, and have enough left over to buy a snowmobile.
Kerry has taken one of the old bins and installed this new drying system he invented. Idk how it works but it looks like we are getting some corn dried.
Also asking for a friend, does anyone want some corn that is around 2% moisture? The stupid river won’t take it 🤷🏻♂️
My grandpappy was proud as a peach pie when he bought a pair of Steiger Panther 1000’s back in 1983!!! Steiger 4wds were the only non-Deere tractors he would run and he owned many over the years. He was pretty disappointed when they started painting them red.
@MachineryPete
It’s a sad day today at GR Farms, Kerry rolled my favorite combine old
#1
. He attempted to roll it back over by unfolding the bin extension to no avail. It was the first one off the assembly line and chipped to 950 hp. This machine truly was a Lexion eater and will be missed 😢😢
March 15th 1969...Pana, IL. Uncle Eddie shovels in a load of beans as Grandpappy works ground and meemaa plants. Planting beans early isn’t anything new. Take note of the bulk hopper Uncle Eddie designed himself on his kitchen table during the winter of 68.
February 2nd 1969 Grandpappy took delivery of a brand new 5020. He immediately put an M&W turbo kit on it and started plowing the south Pana, IL bottoms. He turned the fuel screw a couple too many times and melted a hole in the block at around 87 hours.
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: Due to COVID19 GR Farm services will no longer make any applications of Engenia or Xtendimax on soybeans. We will however continue to spray Banvel at night.
Wheat harvest is up in flames in Pana, IL. We bought a brand new hard loaded 8800 just to give Claas another shot. What a pile of shit. Only 69 hours and it’s a total loss. Claas will not be allowed back on this farm.
#fuckingpileofshitlexion
This spring is unreal...one of the guys called me and said he had issues, well.....AGAIN, it doesn’t pay to be in a hurry!!!! This happened 5 miles southeast of Pana, IL this afternoon. The Machine had only 27 hours on it!!!!!

This photo is probably familiar to allot of you. This is a picture of 17 year old me fueling up my brand new 4960 for the first time. I don’t think I quite had that Tractor for a year. The 8400s were introduced a few months later and it was traded off with less than 100 hrs.
Something you guys may not know is my family used to grow seed corn back in the 60s. My uncle Eddy built this 4 row picker out of 2 New Idea uni-pickers when he was 14 years old. All of the tinwork was hand braised and looked factory.
Well, Grandpappy broke out of Stone Ridge again and came out to the farm. He assembled this setup from a brand new Tractor and only put 690 hours on it before parking it. It still had NH3 in it from 1986!!!! It just warms my heart to see Grandpappy this mobile at 96 ☺️☺️☺️
Update on the new combine....just showed up. I’ll NEVER buy sight unseen again....salesman said on the phone it was a really nice 780. I was expecting a John Deere S780 not this pile of shit!!!!!! It’s pretty much in unusable condition since it’s a Lexion 🤮🤮🤮
In 1977 Grandpappy took delivery of 3 brand new ST470 Tigers from Fargo. Pictured here they are traveling through western Iowa bound for Pana, IL. The 3208 in the Ole Louisville needed 2 in frame overhauls before they finally made it to Pana in late 1979.
Gotta love
@RAMMounts
for mounting all dUH iPads! I have internet in the cab which allows me to be a smart fama. iPads allow me to watch combines in different states and see my neighbors yield through my Tillable account. Us fama work extremely hard when we runnin dUH combine
Kerry took the new Uni-System out today for the first time to plant dUH kern. Let’s just say they have a long ways to go on this design… 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Special thanks to Scott Sloan and Chad Kobe for pulling this off. I can’t wait to take delivery of this beast and put it to work in the south Pana, IL bottoms!!!!!
Famas can’t do math. Kern gets to some manic number and they think they are making money.
Kern. $3.50->$5.00
Naatrigen $180->$400
MAP $400->$690
Potash. $380->$600
Seed kern $320->$400
Fuel. $1.20->$3.00
LeTs bUY nEW tRaCTORz 🤩🤩🤩
Just so everyone knows Kerry was not drunk when this happened. A Lexion Parts van cut him off and he lost control. He said it could have been way worse by thanks to the LSW tires he is safe!
#blessed
With the snow coming Kerry had the idea for a heated chaffer to hopefully keep the snow from building up. We used one of our backup combines for a prototype. The heated chaffer did an awesome job of keeping the snow out but I think we have a few bugs to work on

Biden: "I’m going to — we’re going to impose the — we’re going to enforce the — excuse me, employ the defense, reconstruct the act, to be able to go out there and dictate companies build and do following things."
Smoked a customers non GMO beans with Banvel. Told him to just go fishing for 6 months. Sure glad he listened but he’s probably going to be pissed when he gets back
It’s: “farmers who spend all summer at the lake who suddenly appear to get videos of fungicide being flown on” season. Gotta act like you’re kinda, sorta, working 🤷🏻♂️
Everyone’s like “oh farmland values still strong rah rah rah”
Reality: The two people bidding were 75 years old and this 67.3 acres connected to their 1000 acres that’s bought and paid for so they got into a swinging dick match.
I’m about to loose my mind this is getting ridiculous. Kerry and Jerry really need to get their shit together.
This is what happens in 6 mile rows, running 24 hours a day, and tired employees looks like. Totally unacceptable. Both tractors had around 690 hours on them. 😡😡😡
One of my customers has 3 pallets of chems from
@FBNFarmers
that was recalled. FBN refuses to pick up or pay him back for these chems. Great service guys keep it up!!!! RT for awareness don’t get suckered by these guys!!!!
Kern planting started today on our South American plantation! Flew the choppa around to get some pics. Bauer custom built us these planters to hold 600 units of seed. In one hour we can plant 690 acres.

Anyone been having issues with their new
@johndeere
X9? We bought 4 this year and they have just been big piles of fuck. It’s almost like a Lexion painted green and yellow. Extremely disappointed to the point where we may trade off our whole line of Deere equipment.
In 1969 Grandpappy was needing more plowing capacity so he built this 37 bottom plow. Plowing the north Pana fertile ground was no easy task. To pull the plow he built a cussom Tractor with twin 6-71 Detroit’s in it. He used this setup for a long long time up until 1971.
After much debate and many failed demos. We ended up buying a
@CLAAS_America
Lexion. I wanted to have a bigger head than all of my neighbors and it was the only combine that would handle it. I own enough combines that the constant breakdowns multiple times a day isn’t a huge deal
This situation in centra IL is very serious I’m sick and tired of people joking about it!
My neighbor hasn’t turned a wheel yet and he only has a 24 row planter for his 469 acres!!!!!! He’s on the verge of trading it in on an ExactEmerge just to get done on time.
2020 is the year that keeps on giving 😡😡😡
Kerry was top dressing kern when he found a chuck hole. I’ll tell you what, we’re going to have to clean that seat now 🤮🤮🤮
This machine was new this season with 169 hours on it. We pulled er out and went back to spreading!
Pana, IL-1960
Grandpappys
@johndeere
730 gas and 69A mid mount ciltivator. Grandpappy was excited to get this Tractor with the best halogen lights on the market so he could cultivate around the clock. This was only possible because during this time Coke still had cocaine in it
In the fall of 84 grandpappy traded off his 3 8640s from the spring for 3 more. He also imported the biggest Lemke reversible plough money could buy to use in the north Pana, IL bottoms. A2 was as fast as he could pull it, the trans last around 69 hours with that heavy load.
I was hoping to finish planting cover crops a new farm last night but apparently Kerry couldn’t do that 🙄 Some of the south Pana ground gets a little rough and Kerry just thought this was how the field laid....
Shoutout to one of my brothas working hard to plant dUH kern and feed the world!
Us grain famas have been the hardest working people since the beginning of time. We carry the US economy through thick and thin and feed the world 👍🏻✊🏻

Famas in April: “Got this 69 bar harrow plus 16 sets of rolling baskets behind my field cultivator that already has a heavy drag and rolling baskets mounted. Gosh this seedbed is so perfect!!!”
Famas in May:
Trying to get ready for harvest, gathering stuff up to take to Sloan’s. Kinda forgot I had these. Grandpappy pre-ordered them in 1977 when he was rolling big. Once he took delivery farming crashed and he couldn’t afford the help to run them. All have under 100 hrs on them.
The saga of
#plant19
continues....since the new Hagie was rolled we dug the hi-cycle out of the back corner to at least get something done. Well, son Gary decided to go through a steep ditch empty. Now we only have 2 backup sprayers 😡

Another planter stuck this evening just south of Pana, IL. So far this season has been tough but we are pushing on. Our goal this planting season is to just beat Hi-Tech Farms...could care less about anything else!

So proud of Kerry for filling his tag on opening morning. I don’t know what kind of deer this is but they are allot better tasting than the rat looking ones
It’s a sad day for BigAgDataInfoTech 😢😢😢
I can no longer use my neighbors yield data to help me outbid him on Great Aunt Martha’s quarter section that his family has been farming for 6 generations.
I really hope you guys are happy 😡
2 years ago today
@ClintonReports
gave me the opportunity of a lifetime to share my family’s history with their readers. I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to put Pana, IL on the map!
Now that there’s snow on the road be careful!!!!! These big machines are just pigs on ice!!!!! This happened to Operator Billy Bob south of 16 by the old snake river bridge. Almost the same spot where Kerry rolled the Hagie this spring.
This morning Kerry mentioned that when he checked the oil the bolts were really tight. I didn’t think anything of it since Kerry is a good mechanic. I guess he must check it differently than me 🤔
Most experts say we should expect NH3 to go up another $269 before spring. Uncle Eddie was kind enough to let me use his NH3 tanks from his lab at home. With this setup we can cover roughly 6.9 acres per fill.
#harvest21
Working the South Pana, IL bottoms in 1984. That spring Grandpappy ordered 3 new 8640s. Each one had the pump set to 350 hp and were paired up with 50’ disks. By the end of the spring 2 needed head gaskets and one dropped a piston. All 3 were traded before fall with 80-169 hrs.
Don’t forget!!!!!! If you like getting screwed over on 3 year old chems, shitty seed, and want to join the largest circle jerk in Ag head over to
#f2f19
@FBNFarmers
Cleaning out one of dads sheds and found this old Moline under a bunch of tires. Looks like it’s in horrible condition, anyone know what it’s worth? Probably going to turn it into pop cans if it’s not worth anything. Please retweet.
This is what happens when Kerry and Grandpappy work together. Also props to
@Kinze
for making an auger stronger enough to take a Deere combine auger at 10 mph.
#Harvest19
Special thanks to
@sloanimplement
for installing tracks on Grandpappys 9510. He bought this combine new and only made a couple rounds with it before parking it to get back in his 105. This combine hasn’t moved since 98. With the wet fall we are using every machine we have.
Just received this from a customer. The test weight on his YieldMaster 6969X soybeans was nearly 96#. As you can see, this feller is going to need a new unloading auger now. As he said: “I’m plantin’ all dem f*ckers next year!!!!”
Never underestimate the value of being kind. One of my chemical customers was upset because he could buy his chems somewhere else for $40/acre less.
Gave him a free hat, a spot on the board of directors, and a coffee mug and he is the happiest Fama around!

We are currently gathering riot gear as I type. GR Farms will be dropping off dozers in all major cities across the country. If you see one get in it and go! Kerry spent all night greasing and fueling them up. It’s up to you to buy the second tank of fuel, the first tank is on us
