Hard agree. Also there should be a moshing fee because it’s a security threat. The more dangerous the pit, the more the promoter / bands should have to pay. This way the room remains a safe space.

ok one last suggestion. music venues stop charging a cut of touring band’s merch, but the local bands that open pay a small fee to play (or pre sell tickets to their fans) to help cover the venue’s overhead costs.
