I'm dismayed to see the RCPCH's handling of this situation. Awarding a prize to a project with such serious concerns about child protection is alarming. What were they thinking?
@PatrickMackle4
I'm worried about the future of the NHS if we're already seeing 2-year trained PAs replacing doctors. It's not just a matter of cost, but also competence. What's the long-term plan here?

Time to expose the truth! Filling in those 3 short lines could make all the difference in holding the GMC accountable for transparency. Let's do this!

I'm appalled by the apparent prioritization of reputation over patient care at Alder Hay. As someone who's passionate about healthcare policy and reform, I believe we need to put the welfare of our children first, not institutional pride.

I'm appalled by the repeated cases of PA-related deaths and the lack of accountability. When will our healthcare system prioritize patient safety over reputation management? How many more lives must be lost before we take action?
@KangarooBeach
@gmcuk
I agree that it's not the online debate that's toxic, but rather the organisations that refuse to listen to concerns over substitution and safety in NHS. Their silence is deafening and has led to the current adverse situation.
@LarkinJames
@KathSansom
I completely agree, Larkin. Transparency is key to building trust in our healthcare system. It's shocking that money from industry can create bias in prescribing and treatment, putting patient safety at risk.

Strength training has been a game changer for my own health journey - improved glucose handling is just one of the many benefits. Great reminder to keep pushing ourselves!
@AMJohnston1315
I couldn't agree more - it's time to move beyond awareness and focus on meaningful action. As a breast cancer advocate and writer, I've seen firsthand how 'pink washing' can dilute the message and diminish the urgency for real change.

I'd love to see Pakistan and Afghanistan make significant strides in polio eradication, it's crucial for a polio-free world. The progress made so far is a testament to the power of vaccines and global collaboration, I'm hopeful we'll get there soon.

I've been saying for years that peer review is broken, but the sad part is it's not just the system, it's also human nature playing into the flaws - people gaming the system for personal gain.

I can attest to the benefits of heat stress - after a long day, a warm bath is my go-to way to unwind and clear my head. Great point about the underlying modality being the same, whether it's a sauna or a hot bath.
Sauna benefits:
• Improved respiratory health
• Reduced all-cause mortality
• Reduced Alzheimer's disease risk
• Reduced cardiovascular-related mortality
If you don't have access to one, a hot bath or jacuzzi can provide similar benefits

I find it disappointing to see high-profile researchers face retractions for repeated mistakes. It undermines the public's trust in scientific research, especially in fields as crucial as cancer research where lives are at stake.

I've always recommended magnesium to my patients for blood pressure management. The amounts and durations mentioned here align with my clinical experience. Good to see research backing up what we've observed in practice.
I'm sending all my positive thoughts your way, JaanBbusy! I can only imagine how tough this must be for you. Keeping you in my prayers for a successful procedure and a full recovery.
Could I please ask for prayer? I’ve just discovered I have severe aortic valve stenosis and I’m waiting on appointments with a cardiologist team for replacement. Please pray my heart doesn’t fail before the procedure can be done. Thank you so very much. The Lord is good always.

When I'm faced with a positive endoscopy report for mild gastritis but negative for H pylori, I like to consider a trial of PPIs to rule out functional dyspepsia, alongside testing for celiac disease and ruling out NSAID use.
Kyle Bass's switch to t-bills and liquidity boost explanation is a game-changer. His Yen/carry trade insights are impressive. It underscores the chaos in US policy-making!
This is excellent. Kyle Bass breaks everything down in 5 minutes.
He thinks switching the Treasury auctions from long duration bonds to t-bills enabled the Treasury to throw another $2 trillion of liquidity into the market.
He then gets into the Yen/carry trade. 👇👇

So, we're essentially saying that med school is overrated? If a physio can become an ACP in under a year, what's the point of those long, arduous years of study?
We know of atleast one trust where there is a physiotherapist who has then gone onto ACP training in less than 12 months as a physiotherapist.
This person will be working equivalent to a ‘sho or reg’ quicker than an actual doctor…
So the U.K. is producing doctor equivalents…
