Thank you for your patience, everyone! My "Day 7" update on the Karl Jobst / Billy Mitchell trial is up! We go over some extensive closing arguments, explore weaknesses in Billy's case, and highlight some potentially costly errors by Karl's attorneys.
@srslyberserk
That's not even necessarily, like an act of rebellion or anything. I've worked jobs like that. It's policy that, in a robbery, you just give the robbers whatever they want, and do nothing whatsoever to impede them. Otherwise, liability.
Merry Christmas, everyone! Recent legal discovery has uncovered a trove of private messages between Billy Mitchell and Guinness World Records, confirming what everyone suspected: Guinness never cared about the evidence, and rolled over to avoid a lawsuit:
Yet more Billy Mitchell news. Donkey Kong Forum moderator and hardware engineer Tanner Fokkens has just published a 48-page independent technical analysis, explaining in detail exactly why DK transition screens appear differently between arcade and MAME.

@RainbowOfRed
Which is exactly what many of these cops want to do. Riots mean more overtime pay, and more opportunity to wantonly assault "protestor scum".
It's like when they evacuate a police station or shopping center which they could have easily defended. They wanted it burned and looted.
I don't wish to make light of rumors/reports of James Somerton ending his own life. But I do want to be clear, the only person responsible for James' situation and his actions is James himself. He's had many opportunities to be a decent person and he chose to flush them all away.
@Jarfdrzaly
@TallgirlBigcity
There's many reasons why you effectively have to call them sometimes. Theft insurance won't cover anything without a police report. Also, you need documentation. If you find out who did it, and it becomes a court issue, the first question will be "Why didn't you call the police?"
@Better_Lost
@LilithLovett
I've worked jobs where I stand and jobs where I sit. I'll take sitting with the occasional get up and stretch over standing with "don't you dare sit down unless it's your legally mandated break time" any day. Much less constant foot pain.

@didactickatydid

Even worse is Gerry Sandusky, radio guy for the Baltimore Ravens, who is definitely NOT the Jerry Sandusky of the Penn State sex abuse scandal, despite both having identical sounding names and careers in American football.
@LannisterMunk
@srslyberserk
I wouldn't go thinking Apple particularly cares about their employees' well-being or anything. But they definitely care about liability and public appearances.

"No no, Israel supports a Palestinian state in the West Bank..... that we built a GIANT FUCKING WALL THROUGH. Also... Gosh, how did all these settlements get here?"

I mean, sure, I guess? Looks like those are books? Not sure what the problem....

AAAAARRRGGHHH TURN IT OFF TURN IT OFF
Great news this morning! Florida's Fourth District Court of Appeals just handed Billy Mitchell another L. They ruled that Ohio resident David Race (the actual Pac-Man champion) cannot be tried under Florida law for recording his phone calls with Billy.
BREAKING:
#Cuomo
now has half as many sexual misconduct allegations as
#Biden
.
More women have come forward with sexual misconduct claims against the NY governor. Four more, and he'll have as many as Joe Biden.
This is not facetious. It's the ugly truth.
#MeToo
@BrittanyVenti
Prop that TV up. That angle is terrible.
Get something to put under that Playstation so it doesn't overheat on the carpet.
Get an actual, real, reclining chair. And like a stand to put food and remotes and stuff.
Perfection.

"It presents itself as fairness, yet attempts to restrict and control people's language with strict codes and rigid rules."
Oh, you mean like legislation banning frank discussion about racism in the U.S. because such discussion might hurt white people's fee-fees?
A bunch of industry greats were there.
-High score setter Billy Mitchell.
-Walter Day of Twin Galaxies.
-Doc Mack, epic founder of the Galloping Ghost arcade (with Pete)
-Tim Kitzrow, the voice of NBA Jam/Blitz
-and others

@ShangguanJiewen
Sure, if by "the people" you mean "rich people" and if by "spend their money on the things they want to" you mean "buy up all the houses to drive prices up so they can freeload off the backs of working people".
@chuck_schroeter
@MichaelAdams317
It's quite literally not a "war zone". (I mean, unless you factor in the hyper-militarization of domestic police, but I'm not sure that would help your point.)
Even in literal war zones, pretty sure there are rules against using chemical agents on non-combatants.

Sorry, no. When Bernie crushes it in caucus primaries, but does exceptionally poorly in black box voting states, even though the exit polls were wildly off and suggested he should have actually won (or in Biden-heavy states, at least competed), there are definitely shenanigans.
Howdy everyone! In Brisbane, it is early Monday morning, which means we are now mere hours away from the start of the defamation trial between disgraced cheater Billy Mitchell and absolute legend Karl Jobst. If you want to get up to speed, check this out:
We have a major new court filing in the legal battle between Twin Galaxies and disgraced gaming cheater Billy Mitchell! I know this may be shocking to hear, but it looks like Billy has been producing more fake evidence, yet again. Read the latest here:
@hackcasual
@ass_beaters
@ohshidt
Who the fuck would fly through that at top speed, though?
Like, even if you didn't have those signs, you can't see what's around that corner.
@KamalaHarris
@JoeBiden
There is no one better prepared than
@JoeBiden
to expand the surveillance state and restore lies, empty platitudes, and nonconsensual hair-sniffing to the Oval Office.
Billy Mitchell: "That tape will exonerate me! They don't want anyone to see it because it will prove my innocence!"
(Someone publishes the tape)
Billy Mitchell: "No wait! Nobody's supposed to see that!!"
This notion that Democrats aren’t fascists is the biggest lie of all. When both parties have completely sold out the public & formed a corrupt merger between corporations & the state it means both parties and the entire political system are fascist.
Fascism is also using state
@srslyberserk
"Hey, we've been flexible with your literal other job, but now we need you to stiff them at the last minute so you can work an extra shift here."
@ruff_bluffs
I remember how, a couple weeks or so after 9/11, multiple unrelated people I knew told me "A friend of a friend of mine is dating a Middle-Eastern man, and he told her 'Don't go in any shopping malls on [some specific day].'" (And yeah, obvious racism.)
@EZScapeYT
I was afraid you were going to get a ration of undeserved shit. All of your material on Apollo was accurate, was professional, and was respectfully handled.
No one wanted this outcome. But the only person to blame for Apollo's situation is Apollo.
I didn't want to say it until it was in the bag, but I HAVE NOTES for Day 6 of Karl vs Billy. The notes are a giant mess, and typing that shit was a real workout, so I'm taking the rest of the night off. But I will work to mold them into something readable tomorrow. Good night!
@WaterWitch1312
Benefits programs are designed to keep people poor and needy. Thus, they don't help you enough for you to build a quality life where you can sustain yourself. They only give you just enough to survive in the moment (and only if you abandon things like school).
@ladygueniver
@WalkerBragman
They really don't have to "compromise" with the minority party on making a relief package worse.
They do it because they choose to. And they think the minority party will be an adequate scapegoat for it.
Here's something a friend sent to me. In February, Fairfield High School hosted the "Walter Day National High School Esports Award Ceremony". Of course, proven cheater Billy Mitchell makes himself the center of attention.
But there's something else funny in this photo... (1/14)
This one's wild! As an example of "emotional distress", Billy is claiming he went to an appointment with his doctor of 30 years, and the doctor refused to see him specifically because he cheated at Donkey Kong. (If this were true, wouldn't this be a big medical ethics violation?)
This comes on the heels of Friday's update, which included new court testimony from Mr. Mullet. Among other things, Billy Mitchell is claiming his doctor of 30 years refused to see him specifically because he cheated at Donkey Kong, lolololololol.

"We need to pay the bills somehow!" Wow, so convincing, given that Twitter was paying the bills just fine until a moment ago. Real "Art of the Deal" shit here.
@brandyouknow
@peterdaou
Oh, I know. It was really important that we nominate someone who could actually beat Trump one-on-one. Sucks that the DNC and MSNBC had to anoint the guy basically guaranteed to lose in November.
I hate Trump too, but you'd better start preparing for that second term now.

Don't tell me you fall for that performative nonsense.
We don't need cops to take knees or offer thoughts and prayers. We can do that ourselves. We need cops to report each other. We need cops to actively stop their colleagues. We need cops to testify against other cops.
Remember Todd Rogers? He's back! In 2017, everyone took a sudden interest in Dragster for Atari 2600, when it was concluded that a claimed 35-year-old world record on the game was impossible. Todd is now moving forward with a defamation lawsuit against Guinness and Twin Galaxies.

That might be compelling if their choice of "best candidate" wasn't Literally Joe Biden, a candidate who somehow manages to have even less appeal than Hillary Clinton did. I'm not sure you could draw up a worse hypothetical candidate to run against Trump.
@JKristal5
@RainbowOfRed
Note: I'm not saying "Don't burn things down." It's pretty much an objective observation at this point that political leaders only start to care when important shit catches fire. I'm just saying, this is yet another aspect to how cops make the community less safe, not more.
@skye_daddy
I prefer to say "Biden is worse than Trump". Neither should be dignified with being categorized as "better".
(And to be clear, there are aspects where Trump was worse. But Biden has done far far more damage to this country over the course of his nearly 50-year political career.)
Getting close to completing the "Day 5" write-up on the Karl case. Sadly, my notes got more illegible as the week went on, so it takes time to decipher what I wrote. And unfortunately, sleep comes for us all.
@skepticalspice
Wow, that's shocking! I can't believe what I'm reading. It sounds like they... accurately predicted the Squad wouldn't challenge party leadership in a no-risk situation, and that pressing them to do so would correctly demonstrate that the Squad isn't the answer they claim to be.
We have new testimony from disgraced video game cheater and compulsive liar Billy Mitchell! (He's the douche from King of Kong.) As part of the deposition process in his lawsuit against Twin Galaxies, he has had to respond to formal requests for admission and production. 🧵
And as usual, if you haven't read our heavily researched nine-part series investigating Billy's many lies around his claimed perfect score of Pac-Man in 1999 and his "Player of the Century" award from Walter Day, do check that out. You'll be glad you did.
@JoshuaPHilll
Also, that's just strawmanning. People aren't saying that ruining the blue check system is going to cost them their free speech. They're saying it's going to fuel scams and disinformation.
With about one hour to go, my writing hand finally said "Bro, I think I'm done." Don't worry, I did get that last hour out of it. Lots more wild stuff! More updates in the coming days.
@alienarmpits
@aly_lyss
The blue circle is kinda east, and we call it the "Midwest". The red circle is kinda west, therefore we should call it the "Mideast".

Oh, I'm sure you would if you could. And I'm sure your emphasis is on "your" (as in, speaking to us plebs and workers and not the state).

I was about to say, the photo's just a photo. Strictly speaking, without an accompanying claim, there's nothing for anyone to dispute.
