I may want an upgraded experience, but that doesn’t mean I want to impose my solo business to the risk of a sudden financial burden. I would much rather be able to configure my exact spending limits and be notified if something happens.

@MrMatthewLayton @ThePrimeagen It’s a bad recommendation that is irrelevant to understandability. I’ve been programming for 21 years and lead 9 teams in my tenure. Not ONCE has that advice been helpful for juniors to be able to consume a codebase.

Why do we separate our documentation and code? Just write markdown files in the codebase! We don’t need Confluence to hold the info when it should live closer to the person looking at the code.

@ImLunaHey Excel spreadsheet for subscriptions and a planned budget taking into account taxes, bills, and other misc monthly expenses. From there it’s basically checking mobile app for credit card or bank to ensure everything looks good. Probably check 3-6 times per month.

Sometimes the logical complexity requires many lines. Sometimes it doesn’t. Either way, I don’t think limiting lines of code to a small number results
