I told my mom about our daily standups at work and now she wants to hold weekly family FaceTime meetings to talk about the last 7 days and next 7 days. 😩
👋 hello world. I’m a software engineer looking for my next opportunity to continue with React/React Native/GraphQL. I’m looking for a company that can help me grow, while exploring more full stack work. I am open to remote or Bay Area, CA based.
RTs appreciated!
I am on the hunt for my next role!
I like React, React Native & GraphQL. Most of my experiences have been product focused, but I’m also down for a new adventure with the right team. I sometimes give conference talks. I just love learning.
Bay Area or Remote. DM me please!
Today I start my new adventure with
@convertkit
🎉
I couldn’t be more excited/happy to find such a great fit at this crazy time.
Also, their onboarding docs blew my mind! It feels *so* good to join a 100% remote team (they’ve been doing it before the pandemic).
Here we go!
A few good things that happened within the past year:
Got engaged.
Got let go from my job.
Got a new job.
Moved to a new apartment.
Taught myself how to sew.
Turned 30.
Read 24 books.
Eloped. (safely!)
Got a peloton.
Got a dog.
Did 20 hikes.
Grew a lot as an engineer.
It’s interesting when companies/managers say, “We’re hiring any/all levels!” and then after doing their technical challenge my email reads “not enough experience and can’t give feedback because it’s company protocol” 🤔
👋Twitter. Little update. I'm officially done with traveling & all settled in the Bay Area! I've met some amazing companies, but I am still on the hunt for my next role.
Looking for a React/React Native/GraphQL role on a team with mentorship that can help me grow.
DM's open🙂
Real talk.
@JemYoung
's course, "Interviewing for Frontend Engineers" on
@FrontendMasters
is really, really good. I'm learning a ton and getting that refresh I needed 👏
I’m so happy/excited/thankful/etc for my next role.
Thank you all for reaching out, retweeting, and overall just being so dang nice.
I’ll share more details in a few weeks!
We are hiring! 🎉
There are a few engineering roles open, so feel free to dm me if you have any questions! (Although most A's to your Q's are probably in the job description, it's good).
I think I just realized I am actually part of the React/Javascript community. You people are amazing. I've only been in this industry for a year and I've met so many incredibly smart people! I feel fuzzy and warm and no it's not this Utah heat.

I thought I'd share the questions I ask when interviewing for a new job. I pulled them from experience, research, blog posts, etc. Most of them I think came from
@kurtkemple
's blog?
Anyway, hope they help all you job seekers out there!
Today’s my last day
@MLS
!
It’s been an incredible experience building a greenfield React Native app. For my 1st engineering job, I’ve learned more than I could imagine. It created so many opportunities for me and I’ve met the best people. I’m excited to see what’s happens next!
Today marks my one year of working at
@ConvertKit
🎉
Getting laid off because of the pandemic was the best thing for me since I found my way to this real cool company.
We're hiring for an engineer!
"Teach everything you know" is one of our values on the team, which leads to working with really cool/nice/caring people.
If you like React and working remotely, you should apply!
Funny how tech conferences rarely support working moms.
"Will there be a family room with a fridge I can use every 3 hours?"
ghosted.
I might have to be mia from conferences this year 🥲

You know when you're working on project, it finally comes together, everything is making sense and you're feeling really proud?
Yeah, that's totally happening right now. 🎉
Since working remotely, I find it hard to "rubber duck" some issues. So lately I've been using Slack to have conversations with myself 😂. It's wildly helpful.
Lately, I've been working on learning the proper words for what I'm doing and working on.
"I need to do that thing here" is now, "I need to do string interpolation."
It really helps me understand it, sound smarter, and makes googling a whole of a lot easier.
