@arnoutvanree It was sent on Dec 3. I sent the above email the following day. Just upsetting to see this sort of treatment, after months of intense, mostly under-paid work, from a no-reply address and with the unreasonable 'at own request' part. Fortunately, I have another job lined-up.

This is a good debate. And there is more to it. According to a Nigerian colleague of mine based in Germany, flying to a conference in Eastern Europe is a preferred choice as it diminishes the risk of racist controls and border checks. Something overlooked by uni policies.

@JKleinschmidtIR Great and timely article. A condescending attitude towards 🇷🇺 is also common in LA academia. I find it amusing how intellectuals committed to anti-colonial causes often relativize 🇷🇺 sub-imperialism and marginalize 🇺🇦 agencies, which are often seen as an extension of the West.

@rianhez @XadrezVerbal Não há problema nenhum em discordar e levantar contrapontos. Onde a discórdia não é tolerada é justamente na Rússia e antiga URSS. Há vários autores e literatura que demonstram que houve sim colonialismo na URSS. A história e historiografia não são sem divergências.
