Not surprised, implementation is hard.
Wouldn’t it be nice if the ventilator would give you a percent of time the patients has unsafe ventilation? Or a safety score? Granted we would have to agree on these 😱, or be able to select which….

Interesting study, as this is a common concept, sedation to deal with respiratory drive. A complex topic we need to clarify as it does affect care and likely outcomes. Thank you for sharing.

Agree, we explored this in critically ill patients. To ensure a risk of hidden hypoxemia of less than 10%, the Spo2 should be > 93% among Asian, 96% among Black, 92% among Hispanic, and 93% among White patients.
