Just got off phone w man in NthMelb. They have newborn in special care at RWH. Have had difficulty getting someone to collect breastmilk & unable to visit. His wife just got negative test result &taken to RWH to visit bub. Allowed once a day til lockdown over. He's very relieved!

A note to men who don’t get it: when a baby’s breastfeeding you literally have to be attached to them most of time & cant be separated for more than an hour or so So if you don’t allow bf babies in public places, you’re actually saying women/mums aren’t allowed in those places

@TkbWarrior I totally disagree. As a mum who has bf three babies (including in Parliament, the cinema, etc) I don’t believe I should have had to sit at home and not participate in society at all for the 4+ years I breastfed. Women have a right to participate in society while breastfeeding

Last night, also at 33 Alfred St, DHHS constructed a big chain wire fence. Local community protested, and eventually got it removed at 1am. Let’s not keep repeating the mistakes of the last week - this needs a HEALTH-led response not a force-led response.
