Very proud of this essay in

and grateful to the editors I worked with who championed this story from the beginning. The Palestinian archive will persist.
Language shapes everything. How we are making sense of what's happening in Gaza has become a language war - what words can and cannot be used, according to those in control. Check out my latest piece on TIME about PALESTINE and the POWER of LANGUAGE

where I had the honor of interviewing five Palestinian chefs living in the diaspora today.
Additionally, Paxton’s character is not only unrealistic looks wise, he also cares too much. That’s not a thing. Boys in high school would never ask if everything is okay. They aren’t curious or emotionally intuitive. I’d argue this is a lifelong trait.
I want to also touch on how there is literally no reason for Paxton to catch feelings for Devi. She comes on STRONG and stalks the man. Yes. MAN. He is a MAN. She continues to embarrass herself and yet he finds it... charming?
Not sure what I was supposed to gain from this unnecessary article by Zadie Smith... if you haven't actually stepped foot on one of these college campuses with encampments I don't think you know what's happening....
I do appreciate that the show has a very diverse group of characters. They also don’t give makeovers to these high school kids. For the most part, in high school you are awkward as fuck and they are true to that (except for Paxton ofc). I tip my hat off to them here.
The obvious problem first: the hotness of Paxton does not exist in high school. It doesn’t even exist in college. Heck - I’ve never seen a guy that hot in real life. Period. Next.
The Privilege of the Diaspora -- some thoughts on what it means to keep witnessing the genocide of your people from the comfort of your home in America.
