BREAKING: Essex County Council has announced that no Essex libraries will close in the next five years. It follows a review of libraries which had proposed the closure of four of the eight libraries in the Epping Forest district - Debden, Buckhurst Hill, Chigwell and North Weald

BREAKING: Police have traced a van with four dogs inside less than an hour after it was reported stolen from Manor Road, Chigwell, shortly after 11am.
Officers carried out a search of the area and the van was found in Woodford shortly before noon with the dogs inside.

A vigil has been held in Epping to remember the victims of the ongoing situation in Israel. There was a reading, prayer and the lighting of candles by religious and civic leaders. Some 100 people attended the vigil on the Green near St John's Church.

Police Community Support Officer Julie Buckley, who patrols Epping and Brentwood, has run a full marathon at home raising £3,500 for St Francis Hospice.
She ran the full 26.2 miles yesterday (Saturday) after the London Marathon, scheduled for today, was cancelled.
The chairman of Buckhurst Hill Football Club outlined the ground improvement plans at Buckhurst Hill Parish Council's Annual Meeting.
"The reason is not to create a big stadium it's to keep people within the club playing sport."
