The fact that they backed him to be prime minister and party leader demonstrates a significant if not irredeemably poor judgement of character.

We need to think about the environmental effects of all that unnecessary travel as well, adding to congestion, increased pollution, lost hours...
There's a lot of talk about a "mental health epidemic" following the Covid pandemic.
It will not be solved with six sessions of CBT or citalopram.
Society needs to change dramatically to people and purpose, safety and security ahead of profit.

Piping round to a friend's house about 4pm and they are to polite to not invite you to stay.
"Oh that's very kind, are you sure? I wouldn't want to put you out"
"Oh it's no trouble, honestly"
Lies, all lies.
This

chat is quite misleading.
We asked for 5% above inflation, which at one point was 14%. That makes 19%.
This separate pay spine was not on the ballot and us fishing the issue of yet another party cut.
We need further strike action, not capitulation.
I have a long running joke with the postman every time I get an official looking letter "oh, that'll be from the Queen".

I will say my most effective nursing intervention to day was buying a £3 can opener from Tesco so my patient could open her Fray Bentos pie tomorrow. Both of us pretty emotional. Let's not kid ourselves it's all Pinterest-perfect out there.

Nurses are not angels.
We are highly trained, regulated professionals delivering evidence-based interventions.
We deserve pay that reflects that.
Caring for others IS a profession. People that deny that are pandering to parasitical far-right politicians.
@bencsmoke
But your landlord risks so much! Imagine if you couldn't afford to pay - they'd have to go through all the stress of finding a new tenant, interviewing them, taking deposits, and for a few months might not get paid out.
You're only risking your future and security...
1. Pay healthcare staff way more so they don't need second jobs.
2. Finish on time.
3. Missed breaks are clinical incidents.
4. Protected time for reflective practice.
5. Stop blaming "lack of resilience" for failures of management and leadership.

Because people keep voting for really nasty Conservatives instead of nice politicians. It's all tied in with appearing "strong" and "bold" and pandering to racists. It's complex, but outlawing the Daily Mail would be a start.

People need to understand that the reason the far-right keep talking about "hate marches" and "extremists" and "Islamists" is because the Conservative vote performs better when people are scared.
They are deliberately whipping up hysteria so you're too frightened to change.
I am proud of my nursing colleagues who have a mandate for

Disappointed that only 43% of

Having a normal human response to serious emotional trauma is NOT A FUCKING "WOBBLE".
You don't get through it with messages to "keep smiling" or improving your resilience.

Really fed up hearing "it's just behaviour" and "if he were going to [kill himself], he would have done it by now" from people working in the MH profession.

At 16 they are taxed and held legally accountable for their actions. If not competent to vote, then not competent to be held legally liable.
Calling most kids "idiots" is utterly ridiculous inflammatory nonsense.
I wouldn't have been able to train as a nurse if I'd had to pay fees - indeed I couldn't have done it unless my employer seconded me for the three years.
Thousands of people who would be excellent nurses simply can't afford to train. No wonder we're short staffed all the time.
🗣️ “This is the latest U-turn from Keir Starmer’s Labour and this time it’s students who are paying a heavy price. The Green Party thinks tuition fees should be scrapped and grants restored."

@AdrianRamsay
on the Green Party's commitment to education for all.
Even when my son was going through cancer treatment, I was encouraging the nurses to take part in industrial action.
NONE of the blame belongs to the nurses; to hold them responsible for government's failings is simplistic and ignorant. Which is why Carole is saying it.
For nurses to reject a very fair 5% pay offer + a £1,655 cash bonus shows this strike is not about pay or the NHS - it’s political. And if the RCN union is responsible for refusing it- shame on them. It’s damaging the reputation of all nurses !
I love seeing the solidarity of my nurse colleagues sharing speeches on behalf of other colleagues not well enough to attend

and address the terrible harm done to them by Covid-19 and government failings.

Schools seem to forget that, when you tell them your child is sick, you are not asking their permission but informing them as a courtesy.
Some schools really do need to check their attitudes.
This is absolutely why I voted for you as Chair, totally why I wanted you to stand, and totally the absolute best of nursing.

If I, working as a nurse, lost my temper and caused life-changing injuries to an innocent person, I would be sacked, struck off and imprisoned - and quite rightly.
But if I just used a car to cause the injuries, I'd pretty much get away with it.
