Regarding the @WhoopiGoldberg brouhaha, it may be worth pointing out that this 1917 Jewish Vacation Guide functioned as kind of a Green Book for Jews vacationing in the Catskills. One of the reasons for so many Jewish hotels there was because Jews were shut out of regular hotels.

One of the items in YIVO's Jews and cannabis exhibit is this 1911 Yiddish translation of Viennese author Fritz Lemmermeyer's 1000-and-1 Nights-style Orientalist novel that features a hash-smoking Algerian hero. It was translated into Yiddish by famed anarchist, Rudolf Rocker.
