JLP won in 7 parishes, PNP in 5. Kingston and St. Andrew tied with 20 seats each.
PNP won most divisions and the Mayor of the Municipal of Portmore.
The preliminary counting of ballots is complete, indicating a preliminary
voter turnout of 29.6 percent.
Returning Officers in each constituency will commence the final counting of ballots on Tuesday, February 27 at designated counting centres.
The Honourable Earl Jarrett O.J., C.D. J.P, Hon. LL.D has been selected as Chairman of the Electoral Commission of Jamaica (ECJ), effective March 1, 2020. He was appointed selected commissioner from 2013.

Once you are registered to vote, that is, your name is on the Voters’ List, you can vote on Election Day.
Don’t have your new Voter ID card? Go to your polling station on Election Day & our trained Election Day Workers will guide you through the process of voting without an ID.
Current voter ID cards are valid until Dec 2020 so bring your voter ID card on Election Day. You will be allowed to vote if you don't have your ID card but the process will be a little bit longer.

The Voters List will be published July 31st of this year rather than the scheduled May 31. Electors added to this list can expect to collect their Voter ID card by mid-August.

The deadline to register for the next voters list is Thurs March 29. Persons intending to register for the May 31, 2018 list must apply at an EOJ constituency office before the cut-off date. Persons who meet the deadline should expect to receive their ID cards by mid-June.
