Question. Do you still wear a

in public indoor settings? Judging from what I see, about 1 in 10 people now do. If not less. Should we still be wearing one? I'm curious about your thoughts on this. For the record. I still put mine on

UPDATE. It's important to tell you this person just called back. To APOLOGIZE. It's progress. I took five minutes to listen to his side. Emotions are running at a level we've never seen before. I respect him for being big enough to pick the phone back up

1/2 Two years ago today, I lost my mother. For those who know, grief is an extremely difficult emotion to live with. I love you. There isn't an hour that I don't think of you. I sometimes pretend you never left. You'll always always be my best friend.
1/2 One year ago today, this very hour, I lost my mother. It's been a challenging twelve months. Today is hard. Grief is a friend to nobody. But, I do my best each day. I get up. I dress up. I show up. Because, parents want that for us. Happiness, success. I'm forever grateful.
I think in public
#mask
wearing is sitting at about 2-4% percent now. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong. But this is my observation. For the record, I still
#maskup
as much as possible. Thoughts?

1/2 New Year's Eve by myself. First time in my life. Last year, it was just mom and I. In this very condo. As we grieved over losing dad. Everyone wants this year to disappear. I don't as much. Mom was still here during 2020. She'll never see 2021. Don't wish life and time away.
1/3 EXCITING CAREER NEWS! When I first entered the world of radio, my dream was to one day be host of an AFTERNOON DRIVE show. 26 years later, I'm incredibly proud to say I may now be heard Monday-Friday from 2-7pm on 70's, 80's, 90's boom 99.7 in Ottawa!

After giving a quick update on air, just received my first "why don't you tell the real story & stop lying" call. It ended with a pleasant "F**K YOU." Thanks for listening, I guess? Media fun! How's your Saturday so far? Always take the high road friends

The amount of anger and hate out there today is strong. Trust me when I say, you'll feel 100 times better about yourself and your situation when you practice kindness. It's the only true way to live!

Three years ago today, I said goodbye to my mother. Honestly feels like an hour ago. I love you mom. You'll be my best friend forever. Max still remembers his Nana. We will never forget. I listened to all your favourite songs today and thought of you ❤
Because we could all use a smile today. Here I'm with my 4 year old son Max. This afternoon, we tried to make a crocodile out of some plastic toy blocks. He's holding part of it. When I'm with him, not much else really matters. Find the joy right now. Sending you strength

Quick Poll. Tonight I fed my child a hot dog. It had ketchup on it. Let me guess. Worst thing I could have ever done, right? Let's hear it Twitter. Yay or nay? By the way, he loved it. Of course he did. That's how I grew up too!

Thank you. The support and love over the past few days has truly been touching. Selfishly, I ask that your prayers and healing thoughts keep coming. Losing my parents has left me with an indescribable pain. But, I know I'll feel the sunshine again. They say everything takes time
I'm not going to lie. It's 5pm. It's dark. It's cold. And I want to go to bed. Hang in there folks. Could be a challenging time ahead. Stay positive. Exercise. Eat well. Take your vitamins. Talk with friends

I live my dream each day. By being on radio and TV. Having amazing friends. Great health. On this 41st birthday, I would like to introduce you to another blessing in my life. My son Maxwell James. Born July 11th, 2017. Daddy loves you very much. See you tonight little Max xo
Friends. When I die, you have permission to sing, dance & bring those around you joy. During what could possibly be a time of sadness to some. Even in a t-shirt. At a bar. But please make sure it's to the music of Michael Bolton. That's all I ask. Deal?

December, I lost my godmother Merilyn. Last night, I lost my godfather Victor. Her husband. The older brother of my mom. Just this Christmas Eve, he listened to me on the radio. My heart hurts for their close family and friends. Life goes by quickly. But memories live forever ❤
25 years ago this week. 1999. Here I am at age 22. KOOL FM 93dot9. Covering on an overnight show. Mom & dad listening in Vankleek Hill, Ontario. The first time I was heard over

Stop arguing. Stop hating. Let people like who they want to like. Let people be themselves. Stop bullying. Stop being jealous of others successes. Take a deep breathe. If you are going to be mean, think twice. Life is short. Enjoy this picture of a flower I took today

My family and I are now ready to mention this.
Last week, after a battle with heart disease, my father James Barton passed away due to complications at the Ottawa Heart Institute.
Please read. And thank you for your kindness
This Christmas is my 2nd without dad. I never thought this year would be my 1st without mom. She was my best friend. You are both missed & loved more than ever. You live in my heart & are in my thoughts. Merry Christmas & thank you for making all our years together so special xo
Merry Christmas from Maxwell James (mouthful of nuggets) and I. Sending you all the love this holiday season. Thank you for the support and friendship this past year ❤ 🎄 🎅

I took the Radio Broadcasting Program @ Loyalist College. Max Keeping was in town for CJOH News. Close to Belleville anyway. We drove up to see him. Not sure about the hat. Cool braces though. 98 or 99 I believe. We named our son after him & my father James. How I miss them both.
I am very proud to announce that I will be presented with "The Mayor’s City Builder Award" by Jim Watson at the end of the month. The ceremony will take place before an Ottawa City Council meeting at City Hall. Thank you for the nomination
