Let’s get this right
Hundreds of years ago the Irish language wasn’t a “disputed issue”
The Irish language faced fierce colonial subjugation which banned it, native speaking kids beat for using it in schools & the names of every person & place in country changed without consent
Anocht is mian linn an pictiúr seo a roinnt. Is iad na daoine óga seo, arís agus arís eile, a sheas an fód, agus a thug dushlán an stáit ó thuaidh.
Tonight is for these guys. These young Gaeil took to the streets time and time again.
They challenged this state... le chéile.

Language Rights = For All 👍
Translink will likely stick "fáilte" up alongside 10 other languages, and continue with "English-only" signage throughout all other displays. An approach that is totally at odds with the European Charter for Regional and Minority Languages, excluding Irish from majority of signs.
There’s been criticism from
@dreamdearg
because Irish is not part of main signage at Belfast’s new Grand Central Station.
