There are many Indian 🇮🇳 FMCG companies. Just like Patanjali.
• ITC
• Marico
• Parle
• Britannia
• Godrej
• Amul
• Emami
• Dabur
• Mother Dairy
• Wipro
If I talk against their products - no problem.
If I talk against Patanjali - I'm against 'Make in India'.
How?
I want to buy an auto rickshaw and hire two drivers. Driver will drop me off to work and do fares all day and then drop me off to home. Another driver will do fares all night till the next day morning.
No parking issues, no need to wait for cab and some extra earnings.
UG prep phase isn't easy.
MBBS phase isn't pleasurable for all.
Post MBBS life isn't easy.
PG residency isn't soft on you.
Post PG struggles aren't delightful for all.
Nothing is going to be easy. But every phase has it's own beauty in it. (Not glorifying struggle).

So 23 y/o intern doctor has to ask for ~₹2 lac to parents in a month.
Why don't doctors work in rural PHCs?
Lack of facilities, infrastructure are way down on the list. Primary concern is safety from local goons & local political interferences.
Most high scoring students in school days are still struggling with life. Most average scoring students are happy with their lives and settled as per society standards.
When you know your parents are nearing retirement age & all bills which were getting paid effortlessly are going to come on you. Also on similar timeline she's sending you Maldives photos & Sabyasachi lehengas, your head starts to spin.
Underrated side of doctor as a profession-
Daily human interaction, thousands of stories, day filled with multiple emotions, human touch, meeting people from every walk of life. All these things enrich you for life.
Your day can be frustrating, sad, bad but less likely boring.
To all people who are creating COVAXIN vs COVISHIELD arguments on my TL,
You're lucky that you're getting a vaccine. Vaccine available at nearest center from your place is the vaccine you should take.
End.
Funny hospital story
I was an intern in ObGy dept. Late night - emergency TVS was required.
Went to sleep deprived radio resident. This guy couldn't find condoms for TVS & his senior was not reachable. So me & female co-intern we went to 24 hr in campus pharmacy to get it.

New abortion law in Texas (US)-
The law bars abortions once cardiac activity can be detected in the embryo.
No exception for rape cases also.
This will make many women bear consequences of unwanted pregnancy.
With MTP Act Amendment 21 - India has the best possible abortion law.
Many times doctors come to Twitter for getting small escape in their small breaks/ freetime. They post memes, share some jokes, laugh
Don't start bashing them saying, 'this is what you do on Twitter when people are suffering.'
We need some time for ourselves.
This is not LinkedIn
Dear NEET-UG aspirants,
Bohot hi dene ka man hai to do exam, but aisa doctor banenge paisa waisa kamayenge aise kuch lagta hoga toh, thoda soch lo matlab aisa.
The problem with NEET UG is - your score decides whether you'll be modern medicine practitioner or traditional medicine practitioner.
Your score decides how will you form your belief system in medicine. That's totally laughable.
• She should be resting and not cooking.
• By doing any work you're increasing her oxygen requirement and helping to drop saturation.
• This is glorification of misogyny.
• Extremely dangerous to have oxygen concentrator near open flame. Risk of explosion.⚠️

A friend called asking which vaccine to take.

16y/o boy - fever, sore throat
Told parents to do RTPCR, isolate & just gave sympt.
They went to god knows which pediatrician, he just gave cefixime & told he'll be fine. He's fine but now entire family is down with fever. Idiots.
Daily scenario in Govt. hospitals.
Relatives bring unstable patient from pvt hospital ICU to govt setup as they can't afford rising bill. No prior intimation/enquiry about bed availability.
Local politicians assure they'll arrange bed in govt hospital. Relatives trust them.

Doctors are using Dexamethasone since a long time in Covid patients. But it is not cheap replacement for Remdesivir.
It is not any new drug. You just don't know about it because we've sufficient supplies of it at hospital.
People denying vaccination saying news are showing antibodies fade away, have you studied immunology?
Do you know T cells, memory B cells and secondary response?
No. Then take the jab. These news channels sell half baked cakes for TRPs.
I urge you to restore the services for 2-3 hours and win the hearts of the govt as it is a mutual process: Safdarjung Hospital DG Health Services Dr Sunil Kumar
Henceforth I will help people with vaccine hesitancy. But will not explain anything to anti vaxx.
You can not win argument with someone who is not ready to accept anything.
• Splash protection in hospitals.
• Dust protection while riding.
• No risk of infections.
• Cheap.
• Takes 1 sec to take off and you're free to take a nap.

You do this?? You're a doctor.
You drive this car?? You're a doctor.

Doctors on Twitter: Don't trust numbers. They're under reporting.
Other people in real world: Don't trust numbers. Bas sabko darane ka kam hai. Badha chadha ke numbers dikhate hai. Lootna hai janta ko bas.
Talked to an acquaintance doing MD (बालरोग - आयु). Somehow we started talking about different branches and she said she thinks MD psychiatry is a quackery. She thinks whole branch is a hoax.
Never talking to her again.
Hope you don’t have to visit any healthcare facility here. Yesterday we did shashtrapooja. Otherwise tilak on BP apparatus will be another tweet material.
An undercurrent of religion is everywhere here.
IndiGo airline captain gives lecture on the Hindu festival of Navaratri, describes flight path from Varanasi to Kolkata as the city of Shiv to the city of Shakti: "India for me is not just a noun; it's an adjective, a quality."
Not normalising obesity. It is a risk factor for many diseases.
But people are trying. Many times some medical conditions make it difficult to lose weight.

Those who are waiting for Pfizer vaccine.
Yes, you can take it. No, it's not that we're against that vaccine. Yes, it works well.
But you need to stay alive to take Pfizer vaccine.
Take the vaccine available to you right now. Stay alive!
@RemaNagarajan
Ah. I thought you were talking about fees in pvt medical colleges. Actually you weren’t, you were labeling doctors looters, instead of asking questions about high fees. But now you are getting into religion 🧐

Nobody can understand miseries of two professions in India-
1. Doctors, 2. Police
Public will bang thalis, clap, post support on social media and tomorrow will hit them, blame them for broken system.
Both are underpaid. Still glorified as a rich class by society.
A school friend got in touch after years because he got COVID. He was panicking about mucor as much as COVID. Reassured him and prescribed standard meds for mild symptoms. He responded to treatment beautifully and sent this as a token of appreciation.
Most of real life and twitter seniors to juniors-

There might be some people against this option.
Comment on 'why should not young doctors leave India?'
Tell practical & straightforward reasons please. No ifs and buts.
Today COVID-19 vaccination has opened for all Indian citizens above the age of 45.

Some deals are much better on Flipkart than Amazon. 99% of times everything goes well with both sites.
But difference is with that 1%. If something goes wrong Amazon tries to fix it ASAP and resolve in every possible way. Flipkart team just doesn't care.
• Infrastructure is not a responsibility of doctors. They're soft targets for attacking failed system.
• Floor beds, 2-3 patients on a bed, no ICU beds is not a new thing.
• Just now media is looking at it as pandemic made people realise importance of govt hospitals.
