More info: there is plenty of help. The relative is not alone and lives with lots of family who dote and drive him everywhere. It is literally only bc he wants to. He sneaks out. Asking someone to give up their independence is so hard! But there are legitimate safety concerns.

@ambernoelle One week post c-section I still needed help getting up out of a chair and I was apologizing for still being so incapacitated. Again... One week after childbirth and a major abdominal surgery I was MAD AT MYSELF for still being so weak. SCREW SOCIETY for that kind of pressure.

In prep for my stomach surgery on Tuesday, I’ll be starting a strict liquid diet tomorrow. I’ll be on liquids only for over 2 weeks. For my last real food (I’ve only been able to eat once a day) I made myself a gooey fried egg sandwich. Couldn’t finish it, but it was glorious.
