In Kitchener, my 58 yr old cousin was told his wait at the hospital was 15 hours. After several hours, he went home to shower & return. He collapsed and died at home. He would be alive, if he had been admitted. Shorting hospital funding is fatal.
So
@DrGorfinkel
makes a great point here. Perhaps people don't realize that more people are deciding not to seek care because of wait times, lack of family doctors, closed hospitals, closed emergency rooms & costs (e.g. driving)
Ford's incompetence is getting folks killed 💯
Passenger on the nearly vacant 407. Administration has overpriced this highway vacant. 407 was forgiven one billion dollars they owed the people of Ontario for lack of ridership.

We have sufficient public funding for MAID though. It’s the fastest administrative system in Canada. MAID delivery to society is 2-3 x faster than an LTB hearing opportunity. Canadians are choosing MAID because they don’t have housing.

Mike Harris cancelled 390 approved co-op and social housing projects. Ernie Eves cut shelter allowance by 21.6% Ontario’s Premiers declared war on Ontario’s housing on Jan 13/1997.
🇨🇦, the province & municipalities are being defunded by corporations. Corporations are replacing the services of government with their own franchises. Taxpayers are paying more to receive less.
Let’s take back what is ours:
— OUR Public healthcare
—OUR Ontario Place
—OUR Public Education
—OUR Ontario Science Centre
—OUR ability to FUND our ONTARIO PUBLIC PURSE.
Lawyer Elliott served our healthcare to her corporate interests. The people of Ontario need protection laws to capture MPP’s such as Elliott, Harris, Eves, Hudak,Tsbouchi that use their government positions to legislate benefits to their own corporate interests.
Additional last minute ER closure last night.

Ontario Place - the government awards a foreign corporation a 95 year lease to build on waterfront public lands. Taxpayers will likely have to pay to park in the underwater garage built with tax funds. Full video in comments 👇
Leslie Noble, a key PC insider who led casino expansion in Ontario has been a key player and will soon join Therme’s executive team. Great deep dive into the lobbying by friends of the PCs that gave us a MegaSpa no one wants.

If countries had prosecuted private equity executives and bankers for causing the financial meltdown- they would not have come back for a second feeding. This private equity wealth transfer program is being called a housing crisis .
@TDotResident
Here is the unelectable head of organized real estate since 2016 & Mr X. Hudak corporation has $90 million and does not pay taxes. Notice how the businesses of our former MPPs do not pay taxes.
A bed is furniture. It is a chattel. It is inappropriate to include furniture as new homes built towards Ontario’s goal of 1.5 million homes. Youtube link 👇
Don’t worry about the common sense revolutionaries. They are all accounted for. They all migrated into the real estate sector. None of their corporations pay taxes.

While sitting PC MPP Caroline Mulroney is married to Andrew Lapham- whose occupation 2014-2018 was Blackstone Canada’s housing speculator. PC leader Tim Hudak is CEO of OREA, while his spouse Deb Hutton worked on Mulroney campaign.Organized real estate background is Blackstone.
3 of Ontario’s former premiers built our publicly traded REIT LTC system & sat on their Boards when they left government. LTC is publicly funded 3 ways, and resident funded 2 ways
This is a key problem with industry getting in the care game. At any time, they can just decide to evict hundreds of vulnerable seniors because they decided luxury condos (or whatever it may be at the moment) are more important/profitable.
@jen_keesmaat
Existing home owners should not be burdened with the costs of these expansions. Existing population can not play the host. Growth should pay for growth.

Doug Ford is Canada’s top Real Estate Broker. Carving up Ontario and public services, and selling pieces off to private interests and corporations not yet formed. He’s a dual agent of buyer & seller, corporations & tax payers.
Housing does not trickle down. The rental protections removal in 2018 has had the reverse effect on rental affordability. This housing legislation has benefited private equity landlords.

The Ontario Science Centre is not a tourist attraction. It is a public asset being stripped and severed for land speculators. Moving the OSC to OP serves land speculators.
@deeb_nina
But most public tourist attractions were built with taxpayers’ money. So by your argument, admission should be free too? Dumb argument. Of course you have to pay for parking. Otherwise take the transit to get there.
@chrisgloverndp
It appears losing revenue is the intention. Corporations & our current finance minister are defunding Ontario & diverting tax revenues to private corporations.
Today, I announced that we’ve doubled the number of

inspectors in Ontario.
With the highest inspector-to-home ratio in the country, our inspections regime, the strongest in the country, is helping keep long-term care residents safe.

John Tory has been a Tory since he was 14 yrs old- an assistant to Davis & Mulroney. His law firm spearheaded the set up of REITs operating in Canada. It was John Tory that lobbied his own party for Strong Mayor Powers when he was Toronto Mayor.

Toronto was closing libraries on Sundays? It is very clear to every housing advocate that police services are severely overfunded, while every other social service is underfunded.
It is not that Toronto can not house all their residents. It is a choice not to. By increasing budget funds for police ‘services’, rather than funding housing ‘products’
Councillor Gord Perks is on a heater. He’s taking shots at Mayor John Tory for how he’s handled the budget and Councillor Brad Bradford for his attempt to goad Councillor Bravo into saying ‘defund the police.’
Worth a listen.

As landlords TO can repair the roof for free - offers have been made to do it. The city as a commercial landlord can most likely make the necessary repairs to this abandoned building on your lands. City lawyers should thoroughly analyze the commercial lease.
