@bob_bangalore On Saturday evening my mum, nan and others used to make cheese and pickle sandwiches, on Sunday we used to go to Covent Garden by tube and hand them out to “the poor” mainly men without a limb or blind that had fought in WW2 (as did my mum and dad). That was the 50s “food bank”!
