This is a photo of Sasha, my translator in Donbas, in 2014 when she was 12 years old. The war has been going on for 9 years now. We’re being lied to when they say it started last year.
I just learned that my friend in Gaza, Heba Zagout, a great artist, was killed by Israel. Her last words to me, in a text, were: “We are sitting with the children. There is bombing. I feel afraid.” Her words were accompanied by these photos
Today marks the 78th Anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz by the Soviet Union, but Russia is not invited to the Commemoration — how such historical denial is leading us closer to nuclear war.
Memorial on Old Arbat Street, Moscow, to children killed in Donetsk by US-backed Ukrainian forces BEFORE the Russian special operation began in February.
I fly tonight to Istanbul and then on to Moscow, Russia. Some may wonder why I am going to Russia at this time. In short, I go as a protest of the US’s growing belligerence towards Russia and the Russian people — belligerence that is bringing us closer to a nuclear conflict.
Marshall Zhukov was one of the key military strategists that defeated the Nazis. The USSR gave 27 million lives in defeating the Nazis. About 85% of the Nazis died at the hands of the Soviets. The US then absorbed the Nazis, bringing 1100 of them to the US to help fight the USSR.

Ukrainian lawyer with expertise in humanitarian law and war crimes tells us that shell which hit a school in Donetsk City while we were there was American-made.
Incredible housing units built in the last 3.5 months by Russia in Mariupol, Donetsk People’s Republic (formerly eastern Ukraine). Mariupol otherwise looks like a city which has seen little development since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Kiev abandoned it, then attacked it.
CIA document from 1957 shows US’s long-standing plans to use Ukraine to undermine USSR and Russia, and shows that U.S. has been aware that the Donbas and Crimea have loyalty to Soviet Union and Russia.
Up until very recently, I thought the greatest honor I could ever achieve was the Nobel Peace Prize. Now, I think being given one of those awesome Yemeni swords to wear on my waist would be the best.

I’ve been on the front lines of the conflict of Ukraine to see for myself what is happening. The world is revolving around this small plot of land. It is important to come and see. The reality is far different than we are told it is . . .
I just returned from the Anti-Fascist Congress in Venezuela. Upon my return to the U.S., I was held in Customs for 4 hours and my phone was seized. Most of my photos/videos of the Congress are on the phone. I will share those when I can. My means of communication are limited.
The reason behind the violent crackdowns on student protests in the US and Europe: the West can no longer ideologically defend itself and its actions.

This is Nikoli, a life-long resident of Gorlovka, a city in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine. While he still considers himself Ukrainian, he says that Donetsk can never be part of Ukraine again because the Ukrainian government has “acted against God” since 2014 in brutally
Mainstream press ignores two huge stories — the revelation that the US destroyed Nord Stream pipelines, and former Israeli PM’s claim that the West blocked peace efforts in Ukraine
Lenin statue in Donetsk City. In 2014, the conflict there began when fascists tried to take down this statue and many residents came to defend it. A fight ensued, and the defenders of the statue and the legacy of the USSR won.
This is Vitalii, aged 60. His nickname is “grandpa” because he has 7 grandchildren. He has been fighting to defend Donetsk from the government in Kiev since 2014, in a conflict barely reported on by the Western media.
Russian child in Moscow’s Arbat District examines memorial to the children of the Donbas (formerly eastern Ukraine) who have been under assault by the Ukrainian government since 2014. The West tries to forget these children exist.

to pray. I was not doing it right so a nice man came over to show me how to do it. He asked me where I as from, and I told him. I said I was Christian but that we shared the same God and the same prophets. He smiled and shook my hand
It’s funny. I have lost a lot of friends over the years. And not because I have changed. I’m still the old Bolshevik they knew and once loved. It is they who have changed, becoming frightened, wishy-washy liberals who blame Putin for all of our problems when the problem
US has ground troops in Ukraine, signaling that WWIII has begun. We must resist this madness and call for a negotiated solution to the war in Ukraine and detente with Russia.
Today, I visited the tomb of V.I. Lenin with comrade,
@FiorellaIsabelM
. That Lenin is still laying in state in Red Square, and that hundreds of people continue to line up everyday to see him shows the significant support people still have for the Russian Revolution and the USSR.
I’m old enough to remember when you were actually good — long before you actively cheered on the criminal invasion of Libya and the attempted coup against the Sandinista government. I wouldn’t give you a dime now.
The Sandinistas will win tomorrow because, in addition to providing education, healthcare and food to the people, they are building homes for the poor like these at the Bismarck Martinez housing project in Managua, Nicaragua.
Elena Bloha tells us of her 90 days in captivity, being held and tortured by the Azov Batallion at the Mariupol airport which they had taken over as a base. Her 16-year old son was held captive for part of this time.
During the Cold War with the USSR, there were many people who engaged in people-to-people diplomacy as a means to promote peace and detente between our nations. There are few doing this now, but I believe in this and will do my part to advance the cause of peace & disarmament.
What does Mark Milley, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, mean when he says that if WE lose the war in Ukraine, the international order WE’ve created over the last 80 years will collapse?
In front of the bust of General Qasem Soleimani, a beloved leader who helped free the region of terrorism and was killed by the US in return. This is in Beirut.
Memorial to those killed in 1993 when Boris Yeltzin ordered the shelling of the State Duma (then housed in the White House) to stop the Communist Party deputies from holding up his austerity measures. The Western press cheered this mass slaughter as an exercise in democracy.
After 37 years, Nicaragua officially demands the justice ordered by the International Court of Justice for the terrible harm done during the US-backed Contra War. The US has violated international law by flouting this decision for decades.
Do you realize that the United States has been vilifying Georgia as “undemocratic” for passing a law almost identical to the law (FARA) under which the US is now persecuting
@RealScottRitter
? The US has also vilified and sanctioned Nicaragua for enforcing the same law.
After the corrupt company Odebrecht abandoned Venezuela’s subway project 5 years ago, the workers took over the construction and maintenance of the system at a much lower cost. The workers are in the process of building the tunnel for line 5 in Caracas which you can view below.

I’ve noticed that you have remained silent on the Bolivian elections in which the electorate has overwhelmingly voted to oust the coup government you supported taking power.
