when we only cast white people in roles of purity, innocence, youth, softness; it says only white people can experience those things. in a canon that consistently compares “fairness” and “light” with beauty and wealth, it’s deeply important to challenge what that means.

my heart is beating so fast as i’m typing this, knowing i will never be allowed to step foot back in that building with going public about the truth of the experience that me a disabled artist felt in that building. i am not the only one. there is a long winding list of us.

my dad came to visit me at work today. looked up to the grand circle during the opening scene song and he appeared briefly. a blink of him. then he came back during my monologue in act two. he was beaming. theatres are magical. thank you Globe for your spooky ghost energy x

this kind of thinking prevents me from getting a seat when im disabled. i get shouted at and abused frequently for using them. i really hope we stop judging people’s “need” for a seat by a brief judgement on their outer appearance. the seats are for anyone who needs them.

Healthy young people please fucking stop sitting in priority seats on tubes and buses also don’t sit in the seats where the mums with buggies need to sit - and if I ask you to move so a v old man can sit down - don’t tell me to fuck off - you can fuck off - ok

coming out as disabled was one of the best things i’ve done. for years i dealt with it all as a personal failing, a moral wrong, a private plight. being open allowed me to find community. i’m so thankful each day for every wonderful crip im connected to and those to come 🩷🥰
