Following pressure from artists and organisations @ace_national has updated their funding policy (again)... Funding will NOT be removed for 'political' artists. 💪

Arts Council England says funding will not be removed for ‘political’ artists

ACE had been under pressure to revise guidance in January which focused on ‘reputational risk’

those with most potential are so often least able to pay for higher ed, work for free, or gain paid creative/cultural work. Low income does not = low intelligence, low imagination, low ambition so in 2020 we’re expanding all our programmes in response to what’s coming🚨

7 more teenagers applied for a mentor TONIGHT alone. We cannot work with more than 160 pairs at current size. Clearly we’d treble this or more overnight if we had more hands. Hunger for real opportunities, the excitement AE creates. It’s pure & honest & damn important tbh🍞🌹
