I've created a new hub sheet that links to the work I've done for not only RLCS but some other events.
Dunno how many other events I'll end up doing work for, but if I get hired for any they'll find their way onto here so all my work is in one place.
.
@Vatira5
results since the start of the Winter Split last season
Out of 17 events played in, he has made the grand final in 14 of them, winning 7 of them and never finishing below top 8.
Just to recap what
@GenG
has done this weekend:
First team to sweep G2 with Atomic on the roster
First team in NA to go undefeated in games on final day
Best record for in NA in the playoffs of an NA Regional (12-1)
First team with 100% Assist % after Swiss with 20+ goals scored
Additional tidbits for the reverse sweep:
- 21st all-time
- 3rd in NA all-time
- 99th this season (Bo5+Bo7)
- retals first NA player to record 2 Bo7 reverse sweeps, he recorded the first ever in NA with SSG last season over Oxygen.
- Stax has cast all 3 Bo7 reverse sweeps in NA
Reverse sweep complete. ✅
This is the third-ever Bo7 reverse sweep in North America, and the first-ever NA Bo7 reverse sweep that locked in a spot at an
#RLCS
Major! 🤯
sad Dominus noises
For the first time ever, the Dominus was not used by any player during an RLCS weekend.
Only three cars were used between MENA, NA and OCE this weekend. The Fennec (74.93%), Octane (25.02%) and Lamborghini Huracan STO (0.05%).
Can't remember ever seeing this at any point during an event, but all 3 players on Karmine Corp are
#1
,
#2
and
#3
for Goals PG at the moment in the regional.
Well,
@MoistEsports
don't know how to lose game 5s and 7s.
Now on a streak of 11 straight wins, they've out scored their opponents in those 11 games 34 to 12 (3.09 to 1.09 PG).
They are also now 31-6 (83.78%) in games while on match point since the beginning of Winter.
#RLCS
After
@KarmineCorp
's victory over Endpoint,
@Vatira5
now has an insane 16 straight top 4 finishes in regionals.
His teammate rise would have the same length of streak if not for a single 9th-11th finish during Fall of last season.
With RLCS roster lock looming, I just want to put this out there:
Make sure you sign up with a substitute.
It doesn't matter if that sub is diamond or SSL, just have a sub. Too many times teams have to drop from events because they did not have a sub when something happened.
Had a lot of people ask about
@MoistEsports
' late game heroics so here we go:
Eight 0 second goals scored to tie or take the lead, 7 were scored by
@riseRL_
.
If you extend that to final 10 seconds, 20 goals scored to tie or take the lead, 15 scored by rise.
My first RLCS season is done.
I was a bit overwhelmed at first but eventually found a good flow. Hopefully I was able to help you guys enjoy the season a little bit more.
Could not have asked for better people to work with, everyone is just incredible.
Now, vacation time✌️
Aided by his record setting 20 demos in one game,
@RL_Comm
also set another record.
Finishing with 106 demos, he set the record for most demos in an NA event. Breaking
@Retals
record of 100 from last Winter.
All-time record belongs to
@virtuosoRL
with 120 from Fall RLCS X.
JKnaps was just under 30 seconds away from missing an NA
#RLCS
event. The last time he was not in an event was all the way back in Season 2.
2,682 days ago
But a late equalizer and an OT winner for OG just barely gets them into top 16.
NA Fall Cup is done, so here is what each team still in the running needs or can't happen for them to make the
#RLCS
Fall Major.
The teams who control their own fate are FAZE, V1, SSG, G2, NRG, FUR, OG, COL and SR. The rest need help to get in.
To help nail down the idea of how crazy
@yanxnz
performed at the Spring Major;
He scored 30 goals in 22 games, finishing 3rd in the tournament for total goals.
The only two players to finish ahead of him were rise (35) and Vatira (32) who played 42 games, almost double yanxnz.
Not only has NRG never been perfect swept in the
#RLCS
, but neither has any of the 3 players on the team.
But in the first round of the qualifiers tonight, they got perfect swept by
@AXLE_R8
.
Officially it's not recorded as it's in qualifiers, but quite the bad start for NRG.
A side effect of tracking my stats on specific maps, I was able to confirm that the like/dislike feature in the game actually works.
I was someone who thought it didn't do much, but in 1105 games played my 3 most played maps were liked, and my least played map was disliked.
I wonder if NRG was making a conscious change, or Squishy was just playing well today.
Last season, he averaged 357.97 Score and 0.56 Goals across the entire season.
In swiss today, he averaged 419.68 Score and 0.95 Goals, up 14.71% and 40.39% respectively.
Team Liquid falls to 0-4 on LAN this season vs NA teams, all 4 went to game 5/7.
2-3 vs V1
2-3 vs FAZE
3-4 vs GENG
2-3 vs COL
Their wins have come against Gladiators (1), Ground Zero (1), PWR (1), Quadrant (1), Secret (2), Vitality (1).
On the first crowd day of Worlds, there was an amusing coincidence.
The only Americans playing on that day were FaZe Clan. That series was the 1,776th Bo7 ever played in the RLCS.
1776 being the year the US voted to become its own country separating from Britain.
With the conclusion of online play, the Fennec has officially become the most used car of the season guaranteed.
Even if every series at the Major and Worlds went to game 5/7 and every player only used Octane, Fennec would still be
#1
with 49.24% usage to Octane's 48.89%.
I was looking for a reason to make a chart, so decided to look at the car usage for the RLCS.
In the Winter Open, Fennec, presumably for the first time ever, has become the most used car in the RLCS. This is all regions combined.
With Gen.G's win there, there are now zero players who have qualified for every LAN since they returned last season.
After the Winter Major there were 7;
Firstkiller
Atomic
Chicago
JKnaps
Ahmad
oKhaliD
trk511
All 7 failed to make Boston.
In case anyone wants more reasons to think
@Vatira5
is the best in the world
Between EU/NA, he has played in the 2nd most grand finals (11) and 3rd most regional wins (6). First has 12 and 8, respectively.
He did that in 15 regionals, 9 fewer than the players above him (24).
With today's results,
@KarmineCorp
have done something the previous 5 LAN winners of the open circuit have yet to do, and that is follow up their LAN win with a strong performance in the following event.
Every winner since they returned last season has finished top 8 or worse.
Is Oxygen the EU FaZe?
- Forms with 2 mechanical players & really solid 3rd
- Wins first regional of season
- Poor Fall 2
- Decent LAN performance in Fall
- Makes a roster move to pick up a third crazy mechanical player
- 3rd-4th finish in first regional with new player
@CorelliTV
This season:
APAC - furlashh (1.52)
EU - VKSailen (2.56)
MENA - mzxy (1.58)
NA - Comm (2.13)
OCE - Torsos (2.35)
SAM - AztromicK (1.87)
SSA - Zero (2.32)
With GarrettG and Kamii both missing the London Major, the players with the longest active (for now) streaks of making
#RLCS
LANs are:
Scrub Killa - 4
caard - 4
CaioTG1 - 3
math - 3
Then a bunch of players at 2.
The latest 8 LAN results for
@G2esports
, all with Chicago/JKnaps duo.
S7 Worlds (NA): 2nd
DH Valencia (EU): 9th-12th
DH Montreal (NA): 2nd
21 Fall (EU): 9th-11th
21 Winter (NA): 1st
21 Spring (EU): 9th-12th
21 Worlds (NA): 2nd
22 Fall (EU): 9th-11th
22 Winter (NA): Top 2???
ok so last season we learned the French were hiding ExoTiiK from us
now we've learned juicy is also him
what French player with middling results in the latest few seasons is gonna break out in 2025?
Basic Winter Major scenarios for NA.
Like EU, 9 teams control their own fate sorta. FUR/NRG/KNI need a tiebreaker at worst with a regional win. Each team can get in with less, but needs help otherwise.
15 teams fighting for 4 spots.
Full scenarios Monday or Tuesday.
As a result of having full RLCS LAN data now, I'm able to put together other data I wasn't before.
Probably one of the funnier stats I've come across, this is all-time RLCS LAN shots by region and the shot differential.
With regional 2s finishing up it's time for LAN scenarios! 10 teams control their own fate. Below is the minimum needed to clinch, but teams can get in with less with help.
Full scenarios will be after next weekend's qualifiers to determine the main event teams for regional 3.
Fun team combinations part 2.
This time with some themes rather than just players with similar sounding names.
These are all players who have played in the RLCS specifically.
Falcons have made the
#RLCS
Worlds Region Spots very interesting. As it currently stands;
4 North America
2 Europe
1 Middle East & North Africa
1 South America
Oxygen held Karmine scoreless for the final 16min 46sec of the series the longest they've been shutout all season long.
The loss ends Karmine's EU RLCS record of 21 straight series victories, and also ends Vatira's championship sunday streak at 26.
.
@GenG
finished the swiss stage today with an 100% assist %. That in itself is not unusual, as teams that go 0-3 and score like 10 goals get that on occasion.
It's unusual because they did so while scoring 41 goals in 4 series and had 10 games where they scored 3 or more goals.
Simple scenarios for NA Invitational;
No team can clinch on Day 1 without help. 10 teams control their own fate.
Full team scenarios on Monday or Tuesday, though I'll be starting on them tonight.
we now live in a world where Rizzo and Turbopolsa have acquired RLCS points again
Rizzo's last time was the end of RLCS X, over 3 years ago and Turbo was the end of 21-22 about 2 years ago.
Number of game 7s played in
#RLCS
regionals this season so far:
EU - 20
APAC N - 20
NA - 19
OCE - 17
APAC S - 15
@DeToNator_GG
- 14
SAM - 14
SSA - 13
MENA - 6
With Version1's win this past weekend, Daniel became the 27th player in NA to win a regional in the open circuit era.
Now only two players remain in the region who have made a final and not won one, Memory and Rapid.
In the first 2 series at these events;
DeToNator in LA: 7 goals scored, 1-6 game record
BDS in London: 8 goals scored, 0-6 game record
DeToNator = Team BDS?
BDS has given Karmine a little bit more hope with their win over OXG.
With the EU teams for London basically locked, Karmine currently has one goal in the final event: Finish better than OXG.
If KC can get ahead of OXG enough, they would need to make London final to pass KC.
V1 gonna have to get Moist's paypal if they qualify for Worlds, after Moist knocked both the teams they needed to lose to lowers, FURIA and OpTic.
5/8 World Region Spots locked, it's looking like we'll know all the Worlds teams by tomorrow's end unless R1 or OCE go on a run.
Never seen it so close across the board.
Only a 12 point gap from
#1
to
#10
, 8 points from
#1
to
#6
, 4 points from
#5
to
#10
.
The gaps are so small that no team is completely safe as you'd normally see at this point. Could be worse for top teams if FAZE/NRG make final tomorrow.
Gave it to broadcast, but will repeat it here.
With the timeout data I have, teams are now 1-56 in series (1.75% win rate) after calling a timeout when down 1-3.
Whereas when a team calls a timeout when down 1-2 in the series, they are 10-17 (37.04% win rate) in the series.
.
@KarmineCorp
is picking it up at the perfect time, while
@EvilGeniuses
are dropping at the worst time.
Coming into the Spring Split, EG was in 5th place and 500 points ahead of KC in 8th.
Following Spring 2, KC is now 7th and only 200 points behind EG in 6th.
#RLCS
This European duo had the highest percentage of series cast together of any two casters in
#RLCSX
. 92.09% of Johnnyboi's series were with Shogun, and 88.28% of Shogun's.
THE CURRENT GOAT OF THE REGION! 🐐
@KarmineCorp
's
@Vatira5
wins his ninth
#RLCS
regional event within his career, now the MOST out of any player in Europe!
I do not understand Solary. Their series record so far this season is 6-16.
Their 6 wins have come against Endpoint (1), Soniqs (1), Quadrant (1), Karmine (1) and Moist (2).
So 4/6 of their series wins have come across the
#1
,
#4
and
#5
teams in Europe based on points.
For NA fan's sanity, I think we should just choose to believe a bunch of other teams are NA.
France's flag is red/white/blue so they're basically American, so that gives us 5 more teams
NA is literally in MENA so 3 more, which gives us 13, so really high odds of winning Worlds!
With
@Spacestation
's clinch to the Major,
@hockserRL
has set 2 RLCS records;
Most time between LAN appearances at 1,301 days and most LANs between appearances at 6, last making S8 Worlds.
The previous holders are CJCJ, Express, and Metsa with 1,125 days and ajg/Reys/Alpha at 4.
Stop me if you've heard this before:
- Team of relative unknowns, someone been around a bit and 2 newcomers has strong offseason
- First two regionals middling results, final regional they finally start to break through
- Plays Joreuz in QF, close 7 game series w/ multiple OTs
.
@TeamLiquid
's perfect sweep of
@MoistEsports
:
6th Bo7 perfect sweep all time
5th Bo7 perfect sweep this season
2nd Bo7 perfect sweep in EU
2nd time Moist has been perfect swept this season
Moist shutout for 27m 46s, longest scoreless streak for them this season
#RLCS
@AcroniK
Do you prefer Groups (Winter) where you would have finished 9th-12th with today's results? Or Double Elim (Spring) where you would have finish 9th-12th with today's results?
Objectively speaking swiss is the most fair and if not for it you would be 9th-12th instead of top 8.
I certainly did not have Hogan Mode top 4 finish by beating Team Liquid being the catalyst to have the entire NA pro scene tweet about needing change in the region on my bingo card
With
@G2RocketLeague
's win,
@At0micRL
now sits atop NA with the most regional wins, grand final appearances, top 4 appearances, and top 8 appearances.
Damn
@arisrl_
is him
All 4 OT winners for Moist this event
Scored 11 of 13 goals for Moist against Gen.G, and assisted the other two for 100% goal participation
Unfortunately, I won't be joining the RLCS team in Rotterdam. Gonna miss working with everyone in person.
But, my birthday is a week before so I'm considering going as a fan, would also like to meet more people than just the broadcast guys. Undecided atm because $.
