When we discipline our children to deal with road safety, we normalize the danger and teach them to take it for granted.
What if instead we teach them a life lesson? As a future citizen they can actively make streets safer and more just!

In a car-obligatory society, teens rely on parents to chauffeur them to and from sports; counting down the days until they can drive themselves.
In a car-optional one, they’ve already been navigating their city for years; moving safely, happily, and healthily with their friends.
6 years ago today we had the mayor bike to school with my 6 year old, within the first :30 seconds they were almost hit by a driver on live TV. Every leader should be required to ride a bike (if able) with a 6 year old before they provide any direction on bike infrastructure.
"Public investment" vs "Wasteful Subsidy." The only problem with this clever classic Singer cartoon is that some people might not get that it’s illustrating the perception problem, NOT telling the truth.
Just in case it actually needs to be said, the truth is the opposite.
