I love it when he pulls sweater pictures and some of them are like the ones I bought at my neighborhood thrift store. It's very reassuring.
@Foutanienne
He's following the Adam Driver example. One of these days a Jim Jarmusch will come to give him that serious role that will finally put him in the top tier.
You know what's super easy? To take a "you do you" view of life. You like sending 100 short story submissions in a month? If that makes you happy, you do you. You only submit to The New Yorker? Baby, you do you. It's so easy not to be jealous of others accomplishments.

There has not been one single essay about this woman chosing to have love in her life knowing that the person she'd love the most in the world would die at a very young age. To me that's the most powerful thing in recent cinema.
I know you guys must be tired of my "Gabriel Garcรญa Mรกrquez was the best writer of the 20th Century and all your American sacred cows put together can't even come close to match his genius" tweets, but guys, I'm being honest.
Any word on Motherland Fort Salem? For some reason it's catching my interest, but haven't read anything about it (and don't feel like doing research on a Sunday). Any thoughts?

That's not even up to debate. Of course he did it to impress her and to score some points ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
For the way she looks at him he scored a lot of points that day.

You can actually see the change in his expression when he realized he was a second away from telling her the truth, but he used that second to do the wrong thing. You can even see he thinks he got away with it. He truly is the best of his generation.
@TBQuarterly
is officially the first journal with a coaster out there in these writing lands, thus fulfilling a need all of us writers have. I don't need to worry about those hideous ring marks on my desk anymore.
2022 marked a milestone for me in regards of my writing journey. I was first published this year and I've been doing some of my best writing too, although the short stories were written two or three years ago. Anyway, here are the links of my work out there.
I swear by everything that is holy and sacred to me that I love this film, but I don't know how Fennesy got away with having it discussed in Rewatchables because this is not a Rewatchable film at all.
An all time Bill Simmons moment a few seconds into the Manchester By The Sea Rewatchables: โthis isnโt a rewatchable in the same way say Anchorman isโ
@BWDR
Jeff Nichols has to be in the conversation. His run from 2011 to 2016 is amazing and I believe once he comes out of his hiatus his going to kick some serious ass.
Pirating and/or circulating media that no media corporation can be bothered to stream or reissue on a proper disc is not piracy. It's archiving and scholarship.
You know that short story I sold today? Well, it was actually the first chapter of a ms I shelved. So, I guess what I'm trying to say here is that if you know you wrote something good, never discard it entirely, always try to find a way to improve it or transform it.

Which famous painting best reflects your soul?
I can't even number the many nights I found myself in physical and emotional places that resembled this painting.

I don't see it as a queer reading but as a boy admiring another one and wishing be him, look like him, be idolize like him. I don't think is a "Oh my God, I want him." It's more like "Oh my God, I want to be him." That was my reading.

The first mistake they made was taking the length of the episodes from 30 minutes to one hour and whoever came up with that is to blame for the structure and the pace issues.
@moorehn
Yeap. Homophobia and misogyny played a big part too. Because I remember when I was a kid that dancing was "gay" so boys stopped looking for the joy that came from dancing.
Buying a book because of its cover or because of its title has never backfire on me. You know what did? Buy a book because the author was hot. Never again.
Historically, the Plantonic male figure in classic Western aesthetics is represented as having shoulders broader than the hips, while the female figure is the reverse (not saying you have to conform to these molds, but this is how they're represented in the arts).
Hello to my new followers (you're awesome and won't regret following me, especially because I'm very random in my tweets. I'm not random with my writing though. I'll post my work on this thread.

My girlfriend got pregnant when I was 21, she was 19. After a careful conversation that took hours we both decided that we weren't ready to have a child. We continued dating for two years after that, and we're still friends. She has a kid with her husband now.
Countless men have directly benefited from abortion. Few say so. My partner chose to get an abortion when I was a young man. I supported her in making that decision and I benefited from that choice. Other men who are willing to share how they benefited from abortion, please do.
