In 2008, an Anaesthetic CT1 was sent to @RCoANews 17times by their College Tutor for a crime they didn't commit. This CT1 promptly escaped from there to the @Welshanaesthes underground. Today, still wanted by the government they survive as a consultant anaesthetist. #AC2021

Fb has reminded me, 7 yrs ago today, i got an ARCP outcome 4-exam failure. Things were pretty bad & i nearly gave up anaes completely. Remember it vividly, held it together in the room and then cried all the way home. I CCT in 4months. Things have a funny way of just working out.

Much as I was got rid of obstetric practice as soon as I could, it is one of the most dynamic areas in anaesthesia. All going well to a major haemorrhage, conversion to GA and ergometrine induced bronchospasm in 30seconds. My last ever reg night. But sure let an AA cover it. 🤯

Maybe I’m missing something. Why would anyone waste their cash on an exam that has a 28% pass rate that they don’t actually need to get an ICM cons job. Buy a new bike instead. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@bagheera79 As someone who’s called bosses a reasonable amount at 3am. Start with... ‘is it okay to talk or do you need a minute?’ Followed by I need you to come in/Im calling for advice/I’m letting you know xyz. Remember, monosyllabic, as few words as poss. #tipsfornewdocs

My favourite con, and the anaesthetist I try to be most like, always used to tell me he was an FAA rather than an FRCA. FAA - Fucking Average Anaesthetist. Best anaesthetist I’ve worked with.

Ok, because @ffolliet asked. I started cycling to work a yr ago today and was wrecked after 20k’s. Today’s total distance was 92km with 774m of climbing (longest and hilliest) and I took 30mins off my last attempt at the crow.

FB reminds me that this happened 6 years ago today after 3 primary MCQ, 5 primary vivas, 4 osces, 4 final written, 1 final viva and roughly £5000 in exam fees. Final viva wk is on just now. Regardless of what happens always remember; it will be ok in the end. #FRCA
