About a month in at my new gig now & I can truly say I am so happy. Haven't felt this way in many years. I'm excited about design again & the work that I'm currently working on. Often times I felt scared I wouldn't feel excited about design anymore. Glad the spark is still there.

Lived in the same place for 9 years since I moved to CA. It helped pay off my car, student loans, financially support my parents, grandma’s funeral, travel for friends weddings, etc. Done a lot for everyone but me. Looking forward to my move today so I can finally live my life.💛

Not to brag nor do I EVER post pics of myself this bare. I’m finally comfortable to share this story. 2 yrs ago I was the happiest & very much in love in every aspect of my life. Suddenly things changed. I lost my 2 loves in different ways & at the same time. It destroyed me.

6 years ago on this day I made a jump to transition my career from Graphic Designer to UX Designer. Print design wasn’t stable at the time. Nothing was. I did free work. The recession made it even more difficult. If I didn’t figure out my design career path, I’d be pretty fucked.

Today I really felt more like myself again as I’m trying to handle my depression better w setting boundaries (i.e: hard stop at 5pm w work) & getting back into healthy routines (i.e: Peloton ride & reading a book). It’s only been a day but it feels like a major accomplishment.💛

Every designer’s process and work ethic varies. The pace that a designer works at doesn’t make them great or bad. It shouldn’t be held against us. If you’re letting that pace define success, well fuck that because it shouldn’t. Reminder: We’re not all cut from the same cloth.

Had a very difficult day in regards to my health. Felt defeated in so many ways from processing my results, calling 20+ doctors, etc. So angry at myself that even though I’ve been trying that it isn’t enough. It’s not the end of the world & I will fix it but it sure stings a lot.

Ah Por passed at 97. This was our last but my fav pic. Her smile was so bright, beautiful & special. There was so much warmth in her gray eyes. She would’ve been 100 years old today. I miss her every single day & hope she’s enjoying her fav dish, shrimp rice noodle rolls.❤️🎂🌸

Haven’t been on my Peloton or any workout in 3 months. I’d put on workout clothes in the A.M. in hopes I’d do something but nope. Had so much going on mentally. Tonight I got a ride in & I’m really proud of myself that. Hope this kicks off my routine again. Part of my healing.💛

Went to get coffee, woman without mask walks in, employee tells her she needs a mask, woman says she has a disability. Gives the employee shit who is just doing her job. The employee is a young girl & is super sweet so I stepped in & told the woman to put on a damn mask. FFS...

It gets frustrating & embarrassing sometimes having to explain my own family estrangement & wishing others would be more understanding that not everyone has that picture perfect. If removing toxicity even if it’s blood is to protect yourself, then that’s absolutely okay.💛
