When I first started playing, my school gave me gloves, a helmet, shoulder pads, and the coach bought me a stick. If the school and coach didn't do that, I probably would've done something else. Lowering the barriers of entry to the game would allow more kids to play.

If our state association eliminates the face off from lacrosse to keep people safe, then we just can’t have lacrosse in the spring. Getting rid of that element of the game fundamentally changes a contest. Unless you add a shot clock, people will hold the ball.

Don’t walk between drills. That lost time costs your team :20 seconds = 2 minutes per day = ten minutes per week = 2 full practices a year.

That’s a wrap on summer lacrosse. Bittersweet ending in Baltimore where I have so many fond memories. Our kids were born here, our first house, and the 22 @juiced_cherries are done. What a group of kids and families. It was an honor to serve them for all of these years.

It’s getting to the point in club lacrosse where I’m sick to my stomach. There are a lot of great guys at boarding schools doing things the right way, but sending your assistants to talk to kids during games is just so gross. Just don’t be a loser.

Case Western Reserve should add lacrosse: a phenomenal school that gives over 50% of its students merit aid. It would be able to pull from Ohio, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, and Canada. @mfwchi

Someone told me that flipping the spring and sports seasons in Michigan is on the table. Awesome idea-start lacrosse practices in early August, games in two weeks, done in October. Kids will be ready for fall recruiting.

I put the word out for kids to help out the @juiced_cherries and people responded. Relationships matter in our game. They matter more than anything. We can complain all we want about rule changes, COVID, etc. Whatever...it won't change our game. This is what makes it special.

Watching the MHSAA rules video this morning and club lacrosse, and travel athletics, was described as a swamp. Somewhat unprofessional, in my opinion. A lot of kids in this state are playing intercollegiate sports because of what they do in the summer time.

We went from 24 kids to 37 in one year. We have a great group coming in next year. There were times when I thought, “Moving here was nuts,” but these guys made it all worth it. It wasn’t always easy, and we hit some rough patches, but they never quit. Until victory always.

We do a very simple 4v2 drill each day at practice. It’s simplicity is mind boggling, but it’s been really effective. How do I know this? Yesterday, our goalie threw a BTB to a cutting middie on a clear and it was the right play. He tries this each day in the drill and we
