One year ago today I was being wheeled in for surgery for prostate cancer. I didn’t know what to expect or if I would survive. I would like to thank Dr. Jeffery Landau and Dr. Ashley Ross for saving my life. If Dr. Landau hadn’t done a biopsy on me I wouldn’t

3 yrs ago today I was diagnosed w/stage 3 prostate cancer. My last physical was 7yrs prior. As a coach if it wasn’t something major I wasn’t worried. I urge all coaches, men & especially black men to take your health seriously, get yearly physicals & exams, It may save a life.

His alma mater (UCONN) fired him, damaged his name/character & tried not to give him his buyout after he won a national championship there. Anyone I know would be bitter. He gave Hurley high praise and STILL SAYS US when speaking about UCONN. Only God can turn bitterness to joy!!

It’s crazy to read your timeline & see how many people want to see Coach Prime fail because of all the attention he has brought to Colorado football. But when it’s Saban, Jim Harbaugh, or Kirby Smart etc you don’t get that same energy. Black head coaches get judged differently!!

More black men and especially black coaches need to go get health checkups and go get physicals. This was me in November 2019 exact same diagnosis. Then last May 2023 my cancer came back. I’m cancer free once again. God is truly amazing!!!

When we cut the nets in 2019 Coach Wade didn’t get to climb that ladder for the team he put together. It didn’t feel right. Seeing him finally able to get up there and cut that net off was a special moment. Couldn’t be happier for him. No one deserves it more. @wwademcneese
