After two days, the reality has finally sunk in. The past six years have been the best time I could have ever imagined as a junior scientist. It’s not only about the papers, but also the friendship, the vibrant conversations, as well as the joy of believing in science.

Today we say goodbye to the amazing @QinXiao1990 who is off to start her own lab at @UniofOxford 🥺 Our lab tradition is to give a ‘manuscript mug’ to first authors when they leave. Xiao has enough for a tea party ☕️

Cell plasticity studies employ diverse model systems, each with unique strengths and limitations in its physiological relevance and experimental flexibility. Organoids are well-positioned on the spectrum and hold great potential for functionally deciphering cell plasticity. (3/6)

Just as DNA sequencing has revolutionised our understanding of the genetic basis of human diseases, functional single-cell technologies make it a tangible goal to understanding the non-genetic mechanisms of cell plasticity. Very excited to see how the field moves forward! (6/6)
