Extremely upset by the passing of a legend at Hull City Council, Mark Jones. Mark had been part of the council for nearly 4 decades and was dedicated to the city of Hull. He leaves a real legacy. My prayers are with all those who loved him.

I got a tour round A+E at HRI today. A reminder, if such a thing was needed, of just what a difficult job the teams that work there do. Particularly today when an incident resulted in an armed response call out from the police! A big thank you to those who work there and the NHS.

After a week in hospital for our eldest, great that he was out in time to see the @MiddleChildHull pantomime yesterday. It was 'mischief night' for the last performance, so here's the children's effort at drawing Red Riding Hood. Looking forward to next year's show already!

I have some letters to write to government ministers. I'm again in that position of thinking do I need to wait a day or two to see if they will still be in office. Shambolic.

Slightly sobering thought that I've now done 18 years on Hull City Council and that by the time I'm up for election again next year there'll be people able to vote for me that weren't born when first elected! Been my privilege to serve the people of Hull all this time.
