A plane experienced a loss of power while flying over some mountains in Italy a couple of days ago. The 22 year old aviatrix managed to put it safely down and all three occupants were unharmed. She performed an incredible mountain landing. Bravo Zulu on a amazing landing! #AvGeek

The amazingly tight flight envelope of the U2 at 70000ft 96kts you're in the stall buffet, 111kts you're in the transonic buffet certainly would keeps you on your toes controlling your airspeed.

10.9 hours logged today coming back from OSH. 1 fuel stop in KS. 4.8 from OSH to KAAO and the 6.1 from KAAO to KDVT #OSH23 lots of IFR and was at 15 or 17k ft most of the way back.

The question is. At what point would you execute the missed approach for the LNAV approach at DSM? I know the correct answer is RW05 but it's messing with my head because it shows starting the missed approach a little before it. Can someone shed light on that for me?

Here we were at 11,500 heading back to DVT from AVX Catalina with Keith in formation chewing on my wing and he says when we get back come over to the hangar and Ryan who is in his plane will Air Drop the photos and videos too you. To which I said just send them now. :-)

A year of plane owhership in the books! Well, 13 months technically. My first flight in it was Nov 8th 2022. I did 94.8 hours in her the first 12 months and am at 111.6 total now. Prior to that, I dont think I did more than about 35 hours when I was renting. #Pilot #Aviation

Changing from regular size iPad to the iPad mini and adding the pencil for flying. The actual screen size is not all that different because the black bezel of the 10" iPad is so big. I will like the space and view it frees up on the yoke. #AvGeek #iPad #Pilot

Seized turbo is the issue with our Turbo Arrow III :-( We have a engine on order with Western Skyways but we wont have it for at least 2 months. Checking to see if we can get a loaner turbo from them for now.

Took the Arrow out again this morning for a test flight up to FL175 to see what the numbers are going to be roughly when I head to #OSH23 on Sat. Took about 45 min to get to 17.5 climb rate started at 600fpm at 100kts and degraded to about 200fpm after I was past 15k #Pilot

1st IFR training flight in the books. 1.4 total with 1.1 of hood time. Harder than patting your head and rubbing your belly in circles at the same time when it comes to climbing or descending turns to a heading and contestant speed or fpm. #Pilot #IFR #AvGeek

Hauling but to #OSH23 leg 3. Had to get in before they closed the airport because of the storm coming in. Landing 18R was challenging and fun. Not my best landing by far but the plane is undamaged and reusable:-) Then taxi for a mile and a half to the far S40 #Pilot #AvGeek

Instrument lesson #2 completed. Better than lesson 1. A little more precise. :-)Back on the ground by 8:15am My little portable AC I made for the plane runs for about an hour on the small battery so enough to make it not miserable while up there when it's already 100 degrees out.
