Just have to thank
@Phish
for opening the first set tonight at Alpine with such a compelling song selection that became overwhelmed by the traffic from folks checking their stats.

I was at 11/2/94 Bangor and it’s really an amazing thing that after twenty-five years
@Phish
can play—and I’m here and blessed to have borne witness to—so wondrously improvisational a Tweezer
The next Dinner And A Movie features the band’s June 19, 1995 show from Deer Creek Music Center in Noblesville, IN. The full show will play for free this Tuesday at 8:30PM ET at or
Last night’s “Waves” is why I still love
@phish
after 30 years. Magnificent full-band interplay in the improv makes for a wonderful, era-transcending version.
Welcome new “phollowers.” You will find that not only do I not follow back, but also that in due course I will disappoint you, and you will unfollow me angrily and with the most extreme prejudice.
I think last night’s second set had more “type II” improv in it than any set I’ve seen since Coventry. And then to get a hilarious ENCORE like THAT after a SET like THAT?!?
@Phish
still manages to surprise me—and inspire joy—after almost 33 years!
A very happy birthday to the
@phish
community’s most helpful, most kind-hearted, most positive, most gracious, most n00btastic fan,
@bizarchive
(you may have been thinking of
@heyscottyb
but he’s the second most)
Because of the way Twitter’s terrible non-chronological “algorithm” works I get to read joyful-before and despondent-after Curventry tweets practically at the same time.
Attn new “followers”: if you think the song “Party Time” was performed (and not simply quoted) by Phish in the 12/29/18 Wolfman’s, please listen to one or more of these versions , and then if you still think so, please block me.
On this day 25 yrs ago I drove for ~14 hours from KY to a Super 8 in Elk City, OK (en route to CA where I'd call home until 2014). Checked in, turned on the tv, and Sam Donaldson told me that Jerry Garcia--one of the reasons for my move to California--had died. Love you Jerry RIP
Have to say: if you were at last night’s show, even if it wasn’t your first
@LivePhish
“Crosseyed and Painless,” I can see IT, particularly the segue and key modulation from “Ghost,” making you an

Fan For Life.

After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time.
ATTENTION: Anyone submitting a setlist “correction” claiming there is a tease of ABB’s “Mountain Jam” instead of Donovan’s “There Is a Mountain” in last night’s Timber Ho shall have their
@phishnet
account suspended with extreme prejudice.
I was holding my two year old daughter on a walk moments ago and for the first time out of nowhere she said,
“Albuquerque bust out.”
I started to quietly tear up. She couldn’t see my face and I didn’t make a sound, but she said,
“Don’t cry. It’s okay.”
Soooo the Mike’s Song > Sand -> C&P reminded me why I fell in love with
@Phish
thirty years ago, that segue into C&P was as good as they get, just masterful. Looking forward to revising and appending the !
If phish had performed a YEM even vaguely akinto this 12/31/95 version in 3.0 people would have run screaming from the venue ripping off their garments in
#ecstaticJoy
It is immensely depressing that as we near the 250th anniversary of The American Revolution, tens of millions of “Americans” want to be ruled by a KING who is above the law rather than a President sworn to faithfully uphold the Constitution and laws of the United States.
FTR I consider trolling
@drewphish
into Twitter jail among my life’s greatest achievements. I would like to thank
@drewphish
,
@phish
, Fuckerpants, and locusts for their indispensable assistance.
Red Rocks is such an incredible venue. Hard not to get emotional seeing umphreys here twenty-five years after
@goldlikejoel
sent me
@umphreysmcgee
tapes in trade for phish.
I broke with my tradition of only listening to shows for the first time from the beginning of the first set and proceeding chronologically to listen to last night's Golden Age with Derek Trucks and HOLY !#$!*&^%#@!!@#$%
And, as expected,
@phish
's "Sigma Oasis" was absolutely the greatest studio album anyone has ever listened to o'er the course of human history during a global pandemic on April Fool's Day.
Fwiw if the concepts of IT and THE HOSE have always been baffling/incomprehensible to you, the improv in last night's Tweezer before Passing Through when Mike is heavily teasing Passing Through and Page is arguably teasing most of Allman Bros' catalog may prove informative.
Listened to RiL a ton in HS in the 80s, was beyond thrilled when I learned Phish had covered it 24 years ago and was awestruck by how well they’d covered it, I dubbed so many copies of this set. Such a treat to SEE this set tonight, thank you
@phish
@waterwheelphish
There comes a time—should one be so fortunate—to risk one’s life and the lives of others for a righteous cause, for a Dionysian celebration of the Spirit of Music, for a jamband’s first concert of 2021 in a state renown nationwide for its disease-vectorial citizenry.
So last night's Theme from the Bottom is MUST HEAR. It has a wonderful jam segment, is the longest version in many years, and will undoubtedly make the jam chart!
I was holding my two year old daughter on a walk moments ago and for the first time out of nowhere she said,
“Last night’s Ghost involved The Hose.”
I started to quietly tear up. She couldn’t see my face and I didn’t make a sound, but she said,
“Don’t cry. It’s okay.”
ICYHAH, the first seven mins of last night’s 44 min Tweezer already make it
#MustHearPhish
. The opening composed section is atypically improvisational w unique fills, and ridiculous cock-like vocalizations on “cold” too. And the jam segment almost immediately “goes type II.”
ICYMI I analyzed forty years of
@Phish
’s improvisation and included handy links to versions that are recommended listening and recommeded (re)broadcasting by professionals
@JEMPradio
@SIRIUSXM
Bored waiting for the Chicago run to begin? ICYMI, I analyzed forty years of
@Phish
improvisations— with the most extreme prejudice—and littered the post with ephemera from the 1990’s including

art on postcards sent by the band in response to fan mail.
@YEMblog
@neddyo
take down the setlist and make sure the show is being recorded AND GET THE TAPES because otherwise in 2020 the setlist will still be LARGELY UNKNOWN AND INCOMPLETE and the recording won’t be circulating

My dad was diagnosed with rectal cancer 20 years ago (at 59), a colectomy saved his life. Me and my three younger brothers get colonoscopies every 3-5 years. If you have ANY HISTORY OF CANCER IN YOUR FAMILY getting ‘scoped (even if you’re only 40!!) may save your life
#FuckCancer
I will forever admire the strength and courage of James Casey during his fight with colon cancer and for being an advocate for screening. PLEASE get checked out if you're of age and know the signs and your family history if you're not yet there. RIP
ICYMI: I link to hundreds of Phish’s most widely praised improvisations over forty years and include PHOTOS OF PHISHY THINGS and ephemera from the 1990’s you may never have seen before such as

postcards sent by

in response to fan mail thirty years ago.
Tears of JOY listening to this Everything's Right from last night with Derek Trucks! having flashbacks to the first time I heard the 5/5/93 jam out of YEM with ARU on tape!!%$#@!#%$^&*(%^$#

ANNOUNCING DINNER AND A MOVIE: Tomorrow night (and every Tuesday for a while), Phish proudly presents Dinner And A Movie: An Archival Video Series. We’ll be airing a full show in its entirety at 8:30 pm ET at . First up is Phish’s show from 8/31/12.
I was holding my two year old daughter on a walk moments ago and for the first time out of nowhere she said,
“Last night’s show? One star.”
I started to quietly tear up. She couldn’t see my face and I didn’t make a sound, but she said,
“Don’t cry. It’s okay.”
Just have to say it’s still spectacularly wrong that the first Tuesday in November isn’t a Federal U.S. holiday akin to CHRISTMAS so that people who work for a living may exercise their constitutional right to vote without threat of being fired.
this is fucking insane fish is a fucking animal first of all second of all trey is insane i mean we already knew that obviously but god this shit is just so good
the best band in the world, no doubt in my mind
Please wish a happy 20th Phishanniversary to

extras? Worried you’ll get no money for them and THEY’LL GO TO WASTE?? Well worry no more. Find me there: I will be collecting tickets to use to wallpaper my guest bathroom. (PTBM preferred, no questions asked)
25 years ago today, The Mockingbird Foundation was officially recognized as a nonprofit by the state of New York. Since then, we've donated nearly $2,000,000 in grants for music education in all 50 states. We couldn't have done this without you. Thanks for your continued support!
After this national nightmare is over, can we at least all agree that anyone who uses a restroom and leaves it without washing their hands shall receive a sentence of death by firing squad?
