Dates, watermelon, coconut water Iftar. Streets & beach silent. Put in an almost normal day’s work. Delicious aroma of Maldivian curries wafting around the hour before Maghrib prayers. When I woke this morning I wondered how I’d get through the day! ❤️

Why is the Sinamale bridge no longer open for runners & walkers? Little pedestrian space in Male’ & no hope of being open to cyclists. This is not the way to fitness and carbon emission reductions!

It was my mum's 80th birthday yesterday. She celebrated with a morning run in the park. She can't go to the gym because of lockdown, so I sent her a yoga mat. She said it made her feel empowered to maintain her fitness. What a woman! ❤️💪

Much to value in traditional practices. Many modern innovations are great but let’s keep the best of the old - these, too, were innovations once! Many old practices are more eco-friendly than the modern (coir/plastic) & they make Maldives Maldives.

Fun fact: you can see them year-round in #Maldives . Addu Atoll is the only location in Maldives where mantas rays with over 5 meter of wingspan are known to exist.
